I have made just about everything covered in the included recipe booklet. And it all taste delicious. It was quick to make and easy to clean up after. (Added a photo of my peppers and tomatoes) I live it !

This was my first time dehydrating with an electric machine. I dried tomatoes and I refused to share the taste was out of this world. I also did pears and cinnamon and plain apples. Once the taste test was over, I had a problem with folks trying to take too much. Mind you I have apple and pear trees. I dried pears and apples longer than recommended by 4 to 8 hours for some and used lemon juice. They were the best I ever tasted. I plan to do pumpkins next week. Next year, I will do peaches, plums and berries also.

So far, I've only made beef jerky with it, but it far exceeded my expectations. I used the seasoning and curing packet that came with the appliance and thought that it would take the full 24-hours to dehydrate the meat. Fortunately, I checked at 12 hours and the jerky was perfect. Tomorrow, it's banana chips and mango slices. I highly recommend this machine.

I read the reviews for this & it was rated in the top three. It's easy to care for & the fan being on the top is great because it prevents food from dropping into it, etc. I bought two additional trays along with The Dehydrator Bible which is well written. Since receiving this unit, I have quickly gotten hooked on dehydrating food. Fruit like bananas & apples taste better than you can get them at the store even if they are not hard like the ones in the store. It does the job well. I saw a dehydrator at another store for a lot less money, but it did not look to be the same quality as this one. The trays are dishwasher safe if done using the top rack, but I prefer to wash & dry them by hand. Ordering additional trays is also the thing to do as it takes a lot of produce to make a good batch of banana or apple chips which go faster than you can dry them. I got this as a birthday gift from my husband & I have really enjoyed using it since receiving it.

I love it! I enjoyed using my friend's dehydrator which was the same brand, but a 400. She wanted it back-although I really wasn't done with it-so I needed my own. The Nesco 600 had very good reviews and is very similar to the 400; so I already knew how easy it was to clean and use. The 600 has temperature control which tells for what things each temperature is recommended for written right on the machine- which is very nice- while the Nesco 400 only had one temperature. I doubt that I would use it to make jerky, but it has the capability, and I might surprise myself! I'm using it a lot this fall for apples, pears, and herbs. I've even made fruit roll ups. The machine came with fruit roll up plates. The homemade fruit roll ups are amazing! Hide them from the kids! The only thing I think would be nice on this very impressive machine is an on/off switch, but the cord is short for safety reasons and easy enough to unplug.

This dehydrator is so quiet! It works well, and without having to rotate the trays. Everything cleans up so easily, too. I love that it has the specific temperature settings, but I do wish it had a timer on it also. I've read the reviews and have seen that others have solved this problem by plugging the dehydrator into a timer. I plan to do the same thing but it hasn't been enough of a problem for me to actually go out and buy one yet. I did make beef jerky and went by a recipe I found online. I let the jerky go for about half the time it was supposed to and it was already very dry. So I do recommend watching the food you are drying until you get used to how this machine works. I would definitely recommend this dehydrator.

I have dried lots of fruits, some vegetables and have made fruit roll-ups. We are pleased with the results. It does take slightly longer to accomplish the desired results outlined in the instructions. Overall, I am quite satisfied!

1. Product is lightweight, and very quiet. Using dehydrator for first time with fresh basil . It is taking much longer than 20-24 hr time frame. Being patient. 2. Wish I had known a) there is no on/off switch. For my set up location it is inconvenient to unplug each time I check on drying. b) order model with more trays or a second one for other, shorter drying foods. 3. Looking forward to trying other food items.

I have an old unit - has been great for years. New unit has thin plastic drying trays that warp when you wash them. Useless. They probably saved a fraction of a penny by going to these trays.
