Norpro #691D Mini Porcelain Mortar and Pestle

This mortar and pestle does exactly what I wanted it to do. I take 3 pills a day that are very hard to swallow, so I cut them in half then grind them in the mortar and pestle before adding them to food. Because I have arthritis in my hands, the small size makes it easy to handle and control.

More than 2 decades ago I purchased a larger mortar which came complete with a citrus juicer insert and a top as well as a pestle. I long ago lost the pestle and have since been using the backs of spoons to grind spices. This pestle will make my task easier and provide me with a smaller mortar for grinding two spices at once. Good value and meets my needs.

Know that this mortar is very small. But does the job great :) I use it to crush monthly flea pills for my cats & dogs. As I was shopping I realized , I don't need a big mortar. I mean after all they r small pills. And this paticular mortar fits perfectly in my hand. :) I LOVE IT!!

Smaller than I thought it would be, but that is ok. I'd say the mortar is about the size of a golfball. You can use it on a table top, counter or hold the mortar in the palm of your hand.
