The NoSalt Original Sodium-Free Salt Alternative is a great choice for seasoning a variety of dishes. The overall quality of the granules is consistent and it works well for both baking and stove-top cooking. I found the taste to be a reliable substitute for normal table salt when added to my favorite recipes. This 11 ounce bottle represents good value for money.
It tastes just like salt to me. The small holes you shake it out of could be smaller, though. When I want to put it on veggies in my air fryer, it still pours out too much. I have to be very careful. And if you take it anywhere, the granules will come out, if it lays on its side. But satisfied with the taste, and will buy again!
Sodium salt is poison to me and tastes salty sweet. Potassium salt (this) is fine and tastes salty bitter. I haven't noticed the bitter for decades. One to one substitution in all recipes and at the table. Was an action and study in China that showed that lite salt (half this, half table) salt noticeably reduced cardiovascular deaths. Users of this sodium free salt are very unlikely to suffer a sodium deficiency.
My dietician stated that I had to in decrease sodium (salt) intake. The amount I use to put on food was doing harm to my physical help. I did a web search %26 discovered No Salt. Though I still need to still need to monitor the amount I put on various snacks %26 meals, No Salt is more healthy than regular salt.
Highly recommend this... when I can get it that is. When I order for delivery, they seem to never be able to find it. But if I go in that same day, I sure find it. I sometimes feel like those shoppers just don't feel like looking hard enough. Especially when I found out that they give these shoppers a half hour to shop for our things! I checked it out and verified it with the management.
This container was way bigger than expected! Well worth the money. Im fine eating low sodium, but I have a problem with low potassium. This is a great way to up my daily potassium. I eat use 1/8 tsp if my potassium is low. I dont find an issue with the taste. Does it taste like salt? No, but it's pretty close. It's a decent seasoning for very bland veggies.
I am reducing sodium in my diet, and decided to try this salt substitute. I hoped it would have a taste profile similar to salt, I find it to be less flavorful/savory. I also notice a metallic aftertaste. If cutting sodium is a necessity, it's better than nothing, but I will likely try alternatives to Original No Salt's potassium chloride.
I got this salt alternative to try, thinking that it would be a healthier alterative to regular salt. However, it has a strong, minerally taste that I find hard to ignore or find pleasurable. I'll sometimes use a very tiny amount in recipes and the mineral flavor gets obscured by the other flavors of the dish, but that seems to defeat the purpose of the product. I wanted something that I could, for example, sprinkle on popcorn or vegetables, but I haven't been able to do that with this without ruining the taste of the meal. I keep thinking I might eventually find a way to enjoy this salt-alternative, but it has been sitting in my kitchen cabinets for a while because I just don't think it ads anything to my cooking. I would rather add other flavorings and spices instead.
I am so disappointed! I bought this based on the reviews and it did not have an aftertaste and was very similar to salt. I tried just a little bit on my pork chop for lunch today and I'm sorry not only did it leave a nasty aftertaste in my mouth it ruined the pork chop. Another item I would like to return but have no way to the store.
I'm 73, been on a low/no-sodium diet for several years. Dr. at the VA recommended this in place of "real" salt. Didn't pass muster... doesn't taste like "real" salt. Let it sit. Started reading about "fasting" (you know... like no food) and the importance of electrolytes, of which Potassium is an important one. Read that "No Salt" is a good source of Potassium, so I tried it... mixed 1/4 teaspoon into 24oz water, added so Mio flavoring, and drank. PHEW! Just awful! Immediately got a metallic taste. But you know us old GIs... we do it. So I finished the bottle, and... about 20 minutes later I got "liquified"... my gut that is... you know. Anyway, back on the shelf (ought to toss it). Avoid this... better, find someone who has a container and taste for yourself.
