I have suffered from anxiety and depression for 20+ years and 5-htp makes a huge difference in my overall mood and sense of wellbeing. I take two tablets before bed and it helps with sleep and I wake up feeling ready to take on the day. Gives me a feeling of hope for the future, makes communicating with people enjoyable gets rid of the hopeless feeling. Would highly recommend.

Disclaimer: My husband and I have been taking this 5-HTP for only three days. We are not usually big proponents of naturopathic or homeopathic medicine and we shy away from taking vitamins. I am immunocompromised and sometimes my life can be a little on the annoying side. I take a number of medications to help manage the side effects and prevent flares of symptoms that are not altogether pleasant to live with. My daily life ranges from miserable to tolerable - sometimes on the same exact day. Due to covid I have just recently, within the last couple of weeks been notified by my doctor and pharmacist that a couple of my medications have been placed on the FDA's backorder list. These lists are created when the large drug makers cannot obtain ingredients to manufacture medications or cannot get the medications themselves shipped from other countries like China and India. Right now shipping restrictions are making my life less tolerable and more miserable. There are days I wake up wondering if I have I covid and then I remember that I have not left my house since March and it's just my immune system attacking me because my body hates itself. Desperate times call for desperate measures, where there is a will there is a way, God only helps those, blah blah blah blah. After the first week with one medication substitute that does not work and doctors who are flummoxed, but trying not to say "we are just flummoxed", I decided to do some researching to advocate on my own behalf. I found that 5-HTP, in some cases, CAN and MIGHT help with pain, anxiety and restless leg. This 5-HTP is an experiment. I am not expecting a cure. My husband is taking it too because why not. So far we don't feel any worse and I suppose that is a step in the right direction. My neurologist and immunologist work at the largest and top University in our area and they both say that the power of the placebo effect is very real, so for now, I'm going to focus all my positive 5-HTP vibes forward and hope Covid goes away soon.

I love this 5-HTP. It's not too much and works just right. I take it at night and it helps me to sleep better and I can tell it helps my serotonin levels throughout the days. I would recommend having these handy for sure even if you only use them for the week after drinking a lot.

Usually any medication like this takes about thirty days to take effect. This worked the first time (however, the first time I took two pills instead of one). I take it before going to sleep. I fell asleep easier and remained asleep longer. For anyone with insomnia or sleep problems, I recommend this. Plus, it acts as an appetite suppressor! I use it primarily to keep my life long battle with depression at bay.

I'm always a skeptic when it comes to supplements and what they reportedly can do for you. I can say 100% for sure that since taking 5-HTP regularly at night I have slept better and my overall mood is better during the day. I had missed taking it a few evenings in a row and definitely noticed that I didn't sleep as well and that I was more stressed, anxious, aggravated and moody during the day. I would much rather take this natural supplement daily than prescription meds to sleep, help with anxiety and moodiness. 10 out of 10 in my book!

This is a great product for helping with stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia and weight loss.

They're okay.., I guess if you feel like sleeping all day. I used to like these until I read what you can end up having if you use these longer than 4 weeks. My advice...Read up on them before you buy them. What I felt like when I took these was the same effects of taking a Benadryl. It'll knock you out for sure.

Be warned, my wife and I have tried several times to overlook the negative effects. I have never had a reaction or any symptoms like this with any other brands of 5 htp. Day 1, my wife takes it in the morning and tells me her stomach hurts and that she feels nauseated. I tell her it might be because she took it on an empty stomach. After waiting it out for several hours she's finally back to normal. Day 2, now we both take it in the morning. Forgetting what she told me before, I feel my stomach hurting and start to feel like throwing up. I drink water, I eat a snack, and it's still there. Eventually after 2 hours it goes away but my wife tells me she's having the previous symptoms. I put two and two together and figure we take a break from it for a couple of days. Day 3, we take it in the morning WITH food and head to work. I start feeling nauseous and want to throw up, my wife texts me her stomach hurts and she feels like she needs to pull off to the shoulder just to throw up. TL;DR whatever this is not 5 htp, and is if it is it has been adulterated. I have never had any reaction like this to any other brands. Me and my wife got sick from this. Buy at your own risk
