I sprinkle cayenne pepper powder around areas in my yard that raccoons are getting into and it's an effective deterrent. Must be reapplied every few days and after wind.

In addition to using this for cooking I also sprinkle it around the outside of the house to deter snakes and creepy crawly bugs. Seems to help

I use it in the garden to keep the squirrels and other critters from eating my veggies and fruits so you would have to ask them about the taste.

I use this product to add to my bird seed to keep out unwanted squirrels and other fluffy little items like Chipmunks. they still seem to get in there but they don't hog it all so that's okay. if you eat a lot of birds so getting my cayenne pepper from Walmart is a wonderful savings I would highly recommend it if you use cayenne pepper at a high level
