Like it a lot
Worked well. Heated up very fast. Manufacturer recommends leaving it in no longer than 7 minutes, that seems about right. It wasn't quite as fast as starter chimney with starter fluid but a lot less work.

The charcoal lighter got the charcoal burning in about 8 minutes! Charcoal was almost all grey. Much faster than toxic lighter fluid. It immediately turns red hot. Looks very well made, not flimsy. The price was not expensive at all.

Great gadget! I never have to use lighter fluid. Never have to wonder if it all burned off before grilling.

Why would anyone start charcoal with anything else
This is the quickest way to start charcoal without the lighter fluid taste and smell. Just don't drop it!

worked well
I like to cook out in all weather on our covered concrete floor porch but do not want an open frame. This worked really well. Pile the coals under and over the heating element and it will start the grill in 10 or 15 minutes. watch where you set it when you take it off though. It stays red hot for several minutes.

Its ok, not great.
This is my second one. They are fragile. Use with care. Happy grilling. Overall its ok. Not spectacular.
