I have been ordering this bird seed for two or three years and the reason is that the birds love it and there aren't any weed seeds to worry about. No need to worry about weed seeds that may come with this mixture. I live in the southwest high desert and we have finches, quails, sparrows, robins, and several more.
This mix is the best for our birds. We currently have 50 quail, a few wrens but to date no finches. We have a plague of Grackles who now visit too. It's low dust %26 they all absolutely love it. We have 2 pair of doves who love it too!! The 40lb bag is perfect for us as it will last a month or more %26 was cheaper by the lb over the 20lb bags
great value for the money!! my turkeys and chickens absolutely love it!! I have a netting covering their pen and somehow several birds seem to be able to find a way in just to get to the bird seed and then can't find their way out so every evening I have to get my husband to help me get the birds out and sure enough when I go back out the next day I will have at least 10 more birds in my chicken pen!! I do have to spread it out because it's so good that my turkeys and chickens will fight each other over it!! good selection of seeds too!!
Since I live in the SW, I would think this variety, as opposed to the classic, would be available in-store. Alas, no, It has to be shipped. It's worth it because it has a couple of extra ingredients that appeal to my local wildlife. Allow up to 5 days for delivery despite what you're told at check-out. The price is reasonable *fingers crossed*.
I've been buying this mix for the wild birds since I moved to Az 3 years ago. High quality blend the birds clean up as soon as it's put out. Despite the 40lb bag being a little too heavy for me I'm getting twice as much seed for about $5 more. What a deal!
The birds love this birdseed. The price is affordable even with my limited income. The squirrels forage for the sunflower seeds. I will continue purchasing the seeds as long as WM keeps the price like it is. zwe get different birds at different times of the year. I enjoy watching the birds come down and eat, drink water and bathe in our birdbaths.
I figured bird seed is bird seed but I was wrong I'm in north east Pennsylvania and we are having the coldest winter 🥶 we've had in a very long time. I grad a couple of scoops of seed and throw some into the yard and some I put down in strips so it's spread out all over for the birds and the pretty much eat it all except for some kind of white seed . I bought this bag because they were out of my normal bag of Pennington seeds that I get .
I buy2 packages of this product every week because we love the dressing that comes with the salad mix. However at times we get the salad mix and it goes bad with a day or two. I have to throw out some of the mix now and will have to double think if it's worth the money verses the freshness problem.
Pennington recently started loading a lot of inedible twigs and chunks of plant stalks into their bags of feed. Obviously, diminishing the quality of this product keeps the cost the same but decreases the amount of edible seed. Pennington, if you're reading this, please restore the quality to your former high standards and increase the cost if you must.
its decent seed but the walmart brand is a better value for the same 20 lb bag . the photo on the product page shows zero corn yet the bag i received is full of large whole size pieces of corn. i posted 3 pics. the last one is a screenshot of their ad page
