Very nice little feeder. Feel sturdy and should last for quite a while. The price also was very nice for the quality in size of the feeder. Would highly recommend it to anybody else.
My bluebirds love to eat mealworms from this feeder.
This seems to work great and so far has held up in the weather and with the amount of bird activity. Wish it was a little bigger in regards to how much it will hold. Footholds seem good size to deter the larger birds, although starlings and larger birds will still always find a way. Bought it for the bluebirds and they really like it.
The birds love the feeder and completely empty it within a few days. This winter we have bluebirds visiting for the first time and meal worms are one of their favorite foods. The feeder is easy to fill and has large perches for the birds to rest on.
About what I expected for the cost. Will probably last a season.
good idea but needs revision. supposed to be for blue birds but big starlings land on it clean it out. perches are too big, should be smaller. also wind flips up perches and birds cant feed. i may modify it to fix both issues
I really wanted to like this feeder because we have several pairs of Baltimore Orioles and multiple kinds of woodpeckers. I put it up last night and have now filled it twice. Both times the Grackles and Blue Jays emptied it by knocking the feeder in less than 10 minutes. With each thump the mealworms flew out the flexports. Mealworms are to expensive to continue using it.
Granted this was a very inexpensive purchase so did not expect much yet was still a little disappointed as to the quality of the product. It will serve the function for a time, not likely to last when exposed to the elements not to mentioned the birds and squirrels who will be attracted to it. I am inclined to buy up and this was an impulse purchase, no great loss. This is for an experiment in offering a different seed to see if popular with the locals.
This is the second feeder we bought. I thought I had inadvertently broken the first one, but this one, the second one, had its perch break. The largest bird we have had has been a mockingbird. So I think the perches are defective.
This feeder allows all large birds to access the mealworms and they are gone in 5 minutes. I have since purchased a cage type feeder which prevents larger birds from getting in but they still are able to shake the worms loose and get to them. I purchased these hoping to attract bluebirds but so far I haven't seen one. At least I tried🤪
