I like this much more than I like liquid hummingbird food. It is very easy to use and store. What I really like is the easy to follow chart with the directions, so I can make different amounts as needed. The product is not at all messy and does not spill. It is super conveinient.
I loved that you don't have to refrigerate or cook this concentrate before or after you use it. You just add a tsp for how much you want to make and save the rest. Good color and looking forward to see if the hummingbirds like it.
Perky-Pet Instant Nectar Concentrate is perfect for Orioles or Hummingbirds. My hummingbirds absolutely love the bright orange color and nectar flavors. They flock to the feeder with this concentrate, so they love the flavor and get the energy that they need. I especially love it since it is super simple to prepare with a couple tablespoons of powder and warm water, no boiling necessary. This 8 oz bag goes far and makes 48 oz of nectar. I have tried many different concentrates, and I highly recommend Perky-Pet Instant Orange for your feeder!
I opened this package thinking it might have an unpleasant odor, I was wrong! It smells like sugar, no wonder the birdies love it! My bird feeder is rather large so it didn't fill it up, would need another bag to fill it up! Birds from all around seemed to love it! Birds really are amazing! The bag would/could be larger in size, especially for larger bird feeders! Perfectly fine for small feeders!
Prefer over the red and the hummingbirds love it too, easy to mix and pour, I seem to have more birds with the orange one
The Oriole Nectar Concentrate was easy to mix, dissolved easily, and produced a nice even orange color which is supposed to attract orioles. I also like that with it being powder, it is easy to store the unused amount. It was hard to give this a 5 when I didn't view any birds eating it. This was not necessarily a problem with the product. I have learned that you need to place this out in the spring to attract the orioles after their spring migration, they need a perch, and they need to see orange. I made the mistake of starting mid-summer with no orange. I will try again next spring and put some more orange around it. The manufacturers picture is a better set up with lots of orange.
I got this concentrate thinking it would be for humans :). The name "Perky-Pet" let me rethink the use :). Fortunately I have a Hummingbird feeder and five frequent visitors. Four of them like the orange nectar a lot but one seems not to care for it. I guess like as humans the Hummingbirds have a taste preference as well.
I'm in Florida, this is the first attempt for attracting Orioles to my yard. My backyard is lonely since all the Hummingbirds have migrated for the winter. I'm a Spark Reviewer and received this Perky-Pet Instant Orange Oriole Nectar Concentrate as a promotion to review the product. The first thing I learned when researching Oriole's was that thay are attracted to the color orange. So, this concentrate will help with that. I read the instructions on the package, mixed the powder with water in a large bottle. The instructions were easy to read and the powder mixed with the water easily. I have stored the rest of the unused nectar in the fridge. Right now I'm using my hummingbird feeder until I decide what else I need. I've had the feeder up for a week and nothing yet. From the research, I get an additional feeder for oranges and grape jelly. So, fingers crossed and patiently waiting for a sighting! Wish me luck because it may take a while.
I only saw 2 hummingbirds today so far no Orioles yet ..
I have not seen much activity on the Oriole feeders and the hummingbirds prefer the sugar water I put out. Probably because I did not start in the early season for the oriole birds. I have better luck with hummers on just sugar water. They did try this nectar but left it and drank all the sugar water. Have a separate feeder for the Oriole birds but have not seen much activity.
