Pit Boss 3-Series Analog Vertical Smoker in Blue Hammertone - PBV3A1

I got this for Christmas two years ago, and I've used it a lot , this has been a great first smoker for me , I can't see needing anything different, unless you need bigger ! I have done most everything in my smoker. I just wish I could order more racks and rack holders. Not sure why they can't let you do that ? What's up with that Pit Boss ?

This smoker has come in clutch from pork butts, turkeys for thanksgiving and the crowd favorite the brisket. Love this machine. Only drawback is the plug has been getting warm/hot to the touch. Not sure if I am using it too much but the product coming out of it is so good! Definitely am a PitBoss customer for life!!

I am a bit dissappinted, it will not heat above 125°F and to reach that I have to wrap it with a blanket, this is with a 70° F outside temperature. But it does look nice. Not sure what to do, this seems to be a common complaint with this product.

I thought my new smoker wasn't reaching temperature until I put a different thermoter in at the same level as the intetnally built in temperature probe. The large front temperature probe, the dial gets stuck at 250 degrees, the needle hits the back plate at that area. On two other temperature probes, the actual temp was 325F. So the pitboss front temp probe is bad. If they will send me a new temperature unit for the front door, I may upgrade this to 5 star. I do like the unit. I think they have a bad run of front door thermometers.

I tried to do the initial burn off but after 4 hours it never got above 200 F. Checked all the functions and I'm doing everything as instructed. I dunno if the thermostat is bad on the door but there could have been a much better way to design this smoker. I'm running it now with meats in it and have been watching it for two hours now on the highest temp setting and the gauge says 190 F. I'm a little disappointed in this product.

Top was crushed in when delivered so I'm going to returned, I did open top is broken an doesn't work very disappointed

It arrived damaged with the top dented. The thermometer on the door did not function properly and had to be replaced. Notified merchant of issues with no follow up.

I have not used the smoker yet, so I can't say how it works but the door was dented and scratched, and Walmart told me I would have to take it apart after I spent over two hours putting it together. They recommended I call pit boss who told me they would not do anything because it was not a working part

I can't give a ZERO, or I would. We bought our smoker on black Friday in 2024. Temp won't go over 250-260 degrees. Called Pit Boss. They sent a replacement temp control. Still won't go over 250-26- degrees. Called them back. They said to put in an oven thermometer to see what the "ACTUAL" temp is getting to. The same 250-degrees. Now they won't even answer calls or emails. I will NEVER buy anything from Pit Boss again.
