PreserVision AREDS 2 Eye & Multi Vitamins with Lutein & Zeaxanthin Softgels,120Count

My optometrist recommended there Preservision Areds2 vitamins because I have dry macular degeneration in both eyes. My goal in taking these vitamins are to aid in preventing dry macular degeneration from going to wet macular degeneration. So far they have been easy on the digestive system when taken with food as recommended.

i switched to the multivitamin formulation to avoid potentially high levels of vitamins in the vision and centrum adhoc mix. these seemed to improve my vision slightly and gave me a little more vitality than the centrum adhoc mix. go with the research and data and you seldom go wrong.

These were recommended by my optomologist after my cataract surgery 4 yrs ago. never stopped taking them, I feel I need to do my part in the healing too.

At first we bought the regular AREDS 2 without the multi as recommended by the opthamologist, but found that they could not be taken with my mother's multi. So we got rid of the other multi, and now my mother takes two of these each day.

Both my PCP and Ophthamologist said FOR ME it's a "no go" and to stick with the simple Preservision AREDS 2 formula without "extra vitamins" (eat a good diet). It is a very GOOD product and I'm glad my local Walmart carries this prduct.

I only ordered this AREDS plus vitamin because Walmart was out of my regular AEDs. Because it had a vitamin included, I stopped taking my regular centrum vitamins. Not sure if this was the reason, but after about a month and a half I was real fatigued. My doctor ran a test on my thyroid. It was low on selenium, zinc and iodine. It has been low in the past, but not this bad. I looked on the a red bottle for the amounts of iodine, selenium and zinc, and they were much lower than centrum. I should've looked at the bottle closer. I am now back to taking centrum and my regular A reds and seem to be fine.

I trust this vitamin brand. It was recommended by my eye doctor and a number of friends who take it. However, eosinophilic esophagitis makes it difficult for me to swallow anything larger than what my throat can accommodate. One of these things is this softgel due to its size and who knows, maybe the coating. I returned and ordered same brand without additional multivitamins, just 2 eye vitamins, lutein and zeaxanthin. Hopefully, it's smaller and will work for me.

This is the first time I bought Areds with the multi vitamin in the product. Though the idea is great, the pills are huge! I'll have to take them separately. Will not get this type again.

I received the wrong PreserVision. I ordered the PreserVision 120 count with Multi Vitamin and received the 70 count without the Multi Vitamin. I believe I was charged for the 120 count also.
