forgot to adjust for thickness of knife the first time but went well, sat down then realized what I had done redid it and the knife became sharper. Super easy
My husband loves this sharpener! Bought it as an early Christmas present, arrived on time even with USPS delays due to weather. Works efficiently and cleanly. Definitely recommend.
This product was easy to use and came with instructions that were easy to understand. I sharpened all of my knives and they turned out sharp and cut better then they have in years.
Easy to use and works great.
Received order ahead of expected date. Sharpener came with easy to follow instructions. There seems to be a minor issue with the stage 3 slot width adjustment (too wide compared to other slots). But it didn't affect sharpener's function. All my kitchen knives are now very sharp!
I bought this to sharpen my working knives, collector knives and dining knives. Having the adjustment from thin blades to medium blades to thick blades provided a nice sharp edge to my knives. Like anything you have to perform the knife sharpening procedure a few times to find the best method based upon the specific thickness of the knife being sharpened, but once you get the feel of things it works very nicely. I am happy with the purchase and I sharpened a dozen knives in very little time and each had a very sharp blade and a nice smooth edge. Time will determine the reliability of the unit, but so far all is well and I would recommend the purchase to a friend.
Very good product for price. Motor might be a little undersized, but very good for the price point. Used it on all my fillet knife and put a very good edge on them and is very easy to maintain the sharpness by giving it a couple of passes. Great buy for price and if used once or twice a week.
I used the free shipping to a FedEx office. This was very convenient. Using the sharpener was easy. You need to have a light touch, no real pressure down pushing the blade into the grind wheels. It does not take off too much. The adjustable guides for thicker or thinner knives have too light of a spring support. While sharpening you should keep the knife flat against the guides. However, if you push just slightly more, the guide begins to retract. This can change the angle of the sharpening. Minus one star for this. Actually it might not be such a bad thing because it trains you to keep a light touch. I sharpened both serrated knives and regular blades. The serrated knives sharpen only on one side (the one that does not have the grooves of the serrations). However, I think you have to use the #3 final grindstones on both sides - lightly. This is to remove the burr that sticks into the serrated side. I didn't evaluate whether the knives are "razor sharp". Im not looking to shave with them - my safety razor is fine, thank you very much. The sharpened blades cut well. PS> you can tell if the blade is sharp by looking down on the sharp edge and seeing if light reflects off the edge. If light reflects off the edge, then it is "flat" there and needs more sharpening.
I read the reviews on Amazon and thought I would give it a try. I did as suggested in some of the reviews and purchased several cheap knives at Goodwill to practice on before sharpening any of our good knifes. While you can get a very sharp blade, you will most likely have a small divot ground in the edge where the grinding wheel first contacts your blade. I sharpened three knives and had the same damage on all. I then used a bench grinder to re shape the blades and remove the divot then sharpened all three again with the same results, a sharp blade with a divot cut into all 3 blades. After repeating this process and sharpening all knives 4 times I am not impressed. It is nearly impossible not to have some damage where the blade 1st contacts the grinding wheel. I am returning this for a refund and will stick with my diamond sharpener and old fashioned Arkansas stones. They are definitely more work but with no damage and probably a bit sharper. If you don't have time or know how to use a stone this sharpener will do an adequate job but your knives will probably all have the divot.
This sharpener was a total waste of money. If I could have given it a rating of no stars I would have. I followed the instructions exactly but instead of sharpening my knives it made them duller. I tried all of the various adjustments for the knife thickness but it made no difference. DO NOT BUY THIS SHARPENER. IT IS A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!!!!☠️☠️☠️☠️
