It's a good size fryer for the price. Per basket, 3 regular sized corn dogs so 6 total, two handful of frozen fries/tots/mozzarella sticks per basket. Had a bbq and decided to try making fries in the fryer and I was able to serve a party of 12 in two cookings of two baskets full of fries. The red light indicator is awesome so you can relax after you wait for the oil to reheat and when the light goes off then it's dump time. Highly recommend!
It was very easy to put together. It takes up to 5 quarts of all it was very easy to put together. It takes up to 5 quarts of oil. It gets hot very quickly. I haven't had any platters. The temperatures are correct and the baskets are suitable. You should try it.
Easy to use and put together. It takes 5qts of oil. No splashing. I soaked the baskets overnight to get all the grit off and they came back just as new. Easy to take the container out to wash the pan. The only thing I thought was it was coming with the big basket and it didn't. This is a great purchase for large frying chicken/fish.
This Presto dual basket fryer has been a great addition to my kitchen. The overall ease of use is one of the first things I noticed. Setup took just a minute with a quick rinse and snapping the heating element into place. The controls are simple and straightforward so there is no learning curve at all. The build quality feels solid and dependable. The immersion heating element gets the oil hot fast and keeps the temperature steady which makes a big difference when you are frying larger batches. Both baskets slide smoothly and the handles stay cool enough to grab without hesitation. Size wise, the five quart capacity is perfect for cooking for the whole family. I can do fries in one basket and chicken tenders in the other or just use the big basket when I want everything done at once. It does not take up too much counter space either which is a bonus. Oil splatter has not been bad at all. As long as the food goes in slowly, the sides of the fryer keep things contained so I am not wiping down the whole counter afterward. Cleanup is easier than I expected. The pot lifts out, the baskets rinse clean, and the exterior wipes down without streaks. For a fryer that is a win. For the price the value is excellent. It heats fast, cooks evenly, and handles big meals without struggling. If you fry often or just want something reliable for family dinners this one delivers.
Easy to clean and heats up pretty quickly. The two separate baskets make cooking for a group easy. This fryer is a must have for parties and get together. The fryer lid covers the oil and keeps it clean in between uses. Gets hot enough to fry anything from egg rolls to cheese sticks to jalepeno poppers. Bagged and frozen French fries taste amazing when cooked in this fryer.
The fryer was the perfect replacement for our previous fryer because of its volume that it can contain and the heat that cooks all our favorite foods perfectly! It doesn't take up much space, and can be plugged into any outlet inside or outside the house - as we do! The fryer reaches its maximum temperature in about 14 minutes and cooks most foods exceptionally crisp, light, and delicious! Fries for the kids are crisp, wings for the game are served hot, or hush puppies for the Friday fish fry! I am going to buy another before they are all gone and put it under the tree this Christmas, so I have a quick response to many foods I have become accustomed to in my old age = if it happens to take a vacation permanently from us one day!
I love this fryer! It was easy to put together and the oil heated so fast. I like to fry outside to keep the oil smell out. Oil will also stain the ceiling in the kitchen. I fried catfish fillets and in 4 minutes it was done. I will be using this again soon. The baskets are fine for cooking but you can add the food directly to the oil without the baskets but you will need something to scoop the food out of course.
This is the 2nd one of this particular oil fryer that we have owned. We liked the product so much that we chose to buy the same to purchase one again. The 2 baskets are very convenient, and it fries evenly. This fryer keeps the oil at an even temperature while cooking. We are now using beef tallow in the fryer. It will be well used just like the first one we bought and had for about 4 years.
I have had many deep fryers over the years, and they all get yucky, can't deep fry very many things at a time, takes forever for the food to be ready, baskets still hanging the bottoms in the oil a little bit when you brought it up to hang, among other reasons that o had gave up. My niece had one sitting on her countertop and I asked her about it. Everything she said is true! I went ahead and bought one and I LOVE it!! We use it often, more so than the others, the outside of it stays clean, everything that I hated about the other fryers, this one is not like those. Just the opposite. It has an oil pan that lifts out to clean. The others ones, the units you had to dump the whole machine upside down to change the oil. Not this one! Again, I love it!!! You won't regret this purchase !
Great for fries that's all I use it for. Chicken wings destroys the oil and you'd have to replace it constantly. Buy one for wings so it separate and doesn't cross contaminate your oil. Do not let it overheat you will shorten the life of the heating coil and thermostat causing excessive current draw to the unit also. That's why I replaced mine after 15 years. It kept tripping the breaker circuit.
