I love the Light New England Clam chowder . It has only 200 calories per can and is gluten free . Absolutely delicious. I now purchase the Light instead of the regular 😋
I like to keep soup on hand when the weather gets colder. I have eaten this before and it is really delicious. I do add an extra can of clams. Great with cornbread.
This is my favorite clam chowder, with only half the calories of the others. It has a creamy clam flavor, to which I add a Lili type seafood seasoning (like Badia's blackened redfish or old bay), for a little extra kick.
Great flavor filling and only few calories
very little difference between the normal soup. i just had to season it a bit more.
It's not much out of the can, so I suggest you add these items to perk it up, and make it a good meal. Add some of Emeril's seasoning (recipe on internet, or buy ready made), a little thyme, extra cubed cooked potato, a couple tablespoons 1/2 %26 1/2, and any leftover fish/ shrimp. Then, You'll find it to be quite good, and fast!
Maybe the Light soup is supposed to taste like water with a little bit of salt and 2 chunks of tiny clam pieces. I was looking for a thick creamy soup with clams like I remember before having to go gluten Free. His soup really gives GF products a bad name.
It is absolutely horrible. I purchased four cans and thought that the first one may have been just poor quality but the second can is just the same. it is very slimy and gelatinous. The whole can had two pieces of celery and few detectable clams. I honestly couldn't swallow it anyway. It is a very strange soup. I found it to be quite disgusting and texture because it's thick and slimy. It doesn't even slightly resemble clam chowder. It is quite possibly the worst soup that I have ever encountered. Pass on this one. It's horrible.
2 dented cans
As a New Englander, I'm always on the lookout for a good can of clam chowder. But this one really let me down. It tasted like a boring cream soup with tough bits that I thought were supposed to be clams… maybe? The potatoes were mushy too. I'm definitely not buying this again. It doesn't even come close to what I'm used to back home in Maine! It's so hard to find a canned New England chowder that lives up to what's made there!
