This pitcher is great - the only draw back is the handle is a bit unwieldy for the size of the pitcher and for the weight of the pitcher when filled completely. Sometimes it will splash onto me if I'm holding the pitcher at a bit of a backwards angle when moving the fully filled pitcher. Other than that - great! :)
Bought this for my 85 year old sister and she was able to understand and follow the directions and assembly with ease. A plus for the filter change indicator light do she doesn't have to remember when to replace it! ❤️ Only wish the green color option wasn't $10 more just for the color difference..
Read hundreds of reviews from many different sites swearing it doesn't work, it doesn't fill, it's too slow but I have nothing but good things to say about it. Maybe those reviews were ones that actually had a bad unit? I don't know but I think people need to realize it's a FILTER, it's supposed to work slow especially for all the contamination it can take out. The more filters you put in, the slower it will go! Yeah it takes like 10 mins fill up, okay? Wait the 10 minutes, you wouldn't be complaining if your average filter took this long while you were stranded somewhere with no clean drinking water, you'd wait and be thankful you had it.
Does a wonderful job at filtering the unwanted tastes from tap water. Our city water is questionable and has been known to fail the required cleanliness levels- so this filter pitcher gives us peace of mind that it's getting rid of the pollutants that our city might not be doing. The filters do last as long as they claim to- although as it's getting to the end of its time the water does filter slower- but it still filters.
Have used Pur filtered water pitchers for a number of years. Unfortunately thevtopnon our old one cracked and broke into pieces. We upgraded to a slightly larger version. Works well but I wish handle configuration was different because once full it is heavy and hard to handle for someone with wrist problems. But the upgraded filter is great. Glad to have it.
The water quality is great, but the pitcher plastic is very flimsy. The first unit broke before I could use it. While washing it before my first fill, I placed the lid and shook the pitcher to rinse out the soap. The pitcher hit the side of the sink and cracked. I think the materials could be a lot more durable. I did purchase a second one, but would definitely have chosen something more durable if given the chance. I feel like this thing would shatter like glass if it were dropped on the floor.
The water where I live is terrible. And I am tired of buying bottled water (I want to lower my imprint on the planet). The problem is... I wanted a "bigger" water purifier because of all of the things I use water for. Drinking, cooking etc. And this one is too big. Literally, I have a hard time lifting it once it is full of "cleaned" water. Also, the top that you would normally open to have tap water running into keeps falling into the chamber. I don't want to have to fight with the products I buy. I will be returning this. Will be getting a smaller more manageable one. I'll just have to save my gallon distilled water that I use for my cpap and fill them up.
I ordered two. One was broken. Large crack down the side of the canister. It was a delivery from the local store driver. Not shipped. Bummer this wasn't noticed. Abit of a hassle ordering online and then having to return it. Walmart customer service is always great so no issues with them, it was just the time had to return.
I already have an expensive water filtration, but due my towns water reading in the 300s it clogs up my filter in about 2 months, so I thought to buy a PUR as a 2nd filtration to prolong the life of the one that I have. I soaked the PUR filter for 15 min and rinsed the filter for 15 seconds per instructions, and then filled up the top canisters amd waited for water to be filtered. After filtered I ran a water test and it read more points than my faucet. I dumped the water and ran 4 more times to see if that will help due to the treatment needed before you can use it as my more expensive filter you dont need to do the soaking, but it didnt help. The PUR PLUS filter is leaching something into the "filtered" water for it to give off a higher reading from the tester. I do not recommend PUR PLUS water filtering pitcher, but do recommend Culligan Zero Water which is what I use and when tested it reads ZERO
I purchased this Pur Water Pitcher on 1/28/26. I have had it a month tomorrow. At 1st it filtered fine and the water taste great. However in the past week and half it's taking the water 4 or 5 hrs and longer to filter and it's not time to change the filter. I went to the Pur website for help and read the questions and answers. Said to take the filter out and shake it to make sure the granules were well distributed and make sure it was in place and sealed correctly. Did that and still took 4 or 5 or longer hrs to filter. Tried to contact Pur customer service on the website and it's required to provide name, email, and address. I can understand requiring name and email in order to respond but requiring a persons address for support is ridiculous in my opinion. Evidently Pur does not want to support their customers or stand behind their products. I also have the filter for my kitchen sink. I don't have the box to return it because it worked fine for couple of weeks. I am not happy with the purchase because in less than a month it is not working and Pur support is terrible. I would not buy again and definitely do not recommend.
