This is a wonderful small appliance to peel a lot of potatoes quickly--10 seconds per potato. It's also fun to use--would be great for an older child to help out. As an added bonus, I scrub the potatoes first, then fry up all the peelings in olive oil, salt them and have a lovely snack!

Love this thing. Didn't know how well it would work but was surprised! Can't slice peeled potato fast enough and the next one is peeled! Kind of fun and my youngest grandson is amazed with it and has fun with it, so he helps grandma whenever he is over. Love it.

My wife is suffering from arthritis, but her famous mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving and Christmas are a must. I bought this peeler to help take care of the 80 lbs of potatoes which needed peeled. My grandson and I did this task in about 40 minutes. This peeler was so efficient, little to no waste, and super easy to clean up. My wife has recommended this to about five friends so far and all five are planning on buying it. A MUST to save those hands and fingers.

If you don't like to peel tata's, apples, pears, etc; or hindered by arthritis, etc; this little gadget may be a great compromise! Downsides: A bit noisy, a bit off in getting a clean peel, and def overpriced ($9.99-11.99 is more reasonable, more sales, better reviews, and less returns). Upsides: Easy to use, lightweight, battery and electric capability, blade is sharp but covered, great design, functions well, saves time. Overall: Good enough for its purpose and fun! For the price, you need more color options - I'd like it in white, but gray would be nice too.

I have the manual model and this electric model is not any faster. That was a little disappointing. It looks like they use the same blades, which is good. I have lots of blades still. Be sure to seat the potato firmly on the bottom pegs to keep it secure while it rotates.

On my first use of the peeler the holder that holds the blade broke. I called the manufacturer to see if I could get a replacement. It was a weekend so I had to wait until Monday before they called me back. I was told they could send me another holder but I had already returned the peeler to the store. I would suggest that the manufacture place a blade holder replacement in the package. Other than that it did do a good job up to the point the holder broke, which cause the blade not to stay in place to do any peeling.
