Easy to read, price and fast shipping

I have purchased 2 or 3 over the years, I use them as indoor/outdoor thermometer and to check my portable fridge, have not used for cooking. Works fine except somewhat fragile. The top cap (LED readout) is removable for battery replacement, but if removed too quickly by hand for battery replacement or accidentally by simply dropping from waste high on a rubber mat, one of the 2 exposed battery wires can break rendering unit useless. Just be careful and they will last.

I was hoping to find a digital thermometer without auto off. Not a word was mentioned about that in the product description. Other than that it works well and seems to be accurate.

I've used this thermometer on numerous things, and it's proved to be very inconsistent. For example, I made fried chicken in the oven tonight and used the thermometer to measure the temperature. The temperature said 165 (correct chicken temp) and was still going up. I took it out and plated the chicken, but when the chicken was cut open it was still pink-red inside and no where near done. Very disappointing, and I will be taking this thermometer back.

This thermometer reads the same in the holder and in meat. Does not change reading and the unit comes apart too easy when you pull it out of the meat.

item arrived broken, this is the 3rd damaged package we received from walmart this week. top part of the thermometer falls off when your holding it exposing the battery and wiring. Not ideal since it could fall into the food.
