The Spice Way Gumbo File - Premium Ground Sassafras Tree Leaves, Great for Cajun, Creole Dishes, 8 oz

I thoroughly enjoyed the file powder; it was a consistently uniformly spice powder, made from dried and ground sassafras leaves with a small addition of dried and ground thyme leaves. This was my first exposure to gumbo file and I found it to be delicious when mixed in with the Cajun gumbo recipe I was making and paired with steamed basmati rice. I think it's a great product.

He loved it and I loved it and will try it again. Thank you.it was a lil bit different than what we grew up with in Louisiana.

The Spice Way File was a good value for the money and added the delicious taste we expected to make our traditional gumbo recipe.

This is a BLEND of file' %26 thyme. Why it tastes so weird. Under season with thyme or this will overwhelm. I love how label says “no fillers” yet they added thyme as a filler

It was supposed to be sassafras. It's sassafras %26 thyme mixed. Sassafras is for gumbos not thyme. It was a waste of my money.

Does not tell you in the description of the product that the product has Thyme included in the ingredients .
