The package of cedar grilling planks is a great find! The product is perfect for cooking seafood on the grill and the price for the quantity received is stupendous. Locally if able to find them you would only get 2 boards for about half the cost of the package of 12.
The Cedar Boards are easy to use and add flavor to the food. I use them to cook stuffed salmon on the grill. I can clean the board up after cooking and use it again in the future. Make sure you spray the board with olive oil prior to cooking so it will clean up nicely after use.
I bought these because I wanted to make a grilled brie recipe that caught my eye. But as I was getting ready for a tamale party at my neighbor's house, I spotted these wooden planks rested on my pie cooler. I grabbed two of them and brought them to the tamale party. Women sat at the kitchen table, chopping up veggies and crushing herbs, using the planks at the dinner table as chopping boards, and when I go back here after year, the planks are handed out along with the tamale chores to the women.
There are a lot of places selling allegedly cedar planks from China or whatever. These are apparently from and milled in Idaho, they report they're responsibly harvested, and I will confirm that they smell as nice as cedar should and do a great job grilling salmon.
I use the wood for craft projects
Works great
Planks are as expected. Arrived late.
This was a 12-pack of Cedar Grilling Planks. Two of the planks were cut on a knot and had chunks out of them. One of them had measurements written in pencil on both sides of it. Two of them were nicely stamped with the company logo. The remaining 7 of them were fine.
they need to be longer .. otherwise they are good and good price.. but we cook salmon on them and they were not long enough...
The product description says the stack of them is (WxLxH) 5x11x10; they are actually 5x11x4, meaning they are .33” thick, not .83”. Too thin for direct grilling, would be useful for indirect cooking only.
