I saw some reviews saying there was something wrong and this didn't work for sourdough/starter. I had to do a double take, I was pretty sure I had used it several times before coming back to reorder. My starter woke back up just fine after weeks of neglect. These are a 500g and a 250g loaf. All with this flour. Not sure if things changed between the other reviews (which were from a few years ago now) and today…. But currently, works just fine for this purpose!
We live off the road system in Alaska. Leaving behind Costco when we moved meant finding new ways to obtain what we need at reasonable prices. Thank you, Walmart, for helping us eat organically at reasonable prices, even this far away from the rest of the world! I'm a baker, and this works so well for much of my menu!
Although prices of flour have increased like just about everything else, this flour is still a great bargain. Besides being organic (minus the glyphosate residues), this flour has a wonderful, nutty flavor that produces excellent pizza crust, flatbread, and baguettes, which is what I've been doing with it. I'm impressed with the quality and highly recommend. Make some crusty bread, and use it for dipping in some hearty lentil soup made from Great Value lentils, another inflation-fighting food to keep bellies full in these trying times.
The quality of the flour is so good that it seems to outshine the best that I've tried and I tried them all. My biscuits came out better than I've seen them... using the same amount of dough. So, I just wanted to let you know that. I love to bake so it was a great discovery… first time I ever used it. I'll be a regular customer now.
This was my first time trying Walmart's all purpose flour, I usually could only find organic flour at Sprouts. I cooked a variety things. I made cheese sauce for fries, I made pan size pizza dough, I made hand made tortillas, peanut butter cookies and tried my hand at " induction cookies " lol. I made chocolate chip cookies, too. Great Flour at a great valued price. Oh, I made peach dump pie.
It was surprisingly good. I usually use King Arthur brand, but hey, flour is getting pricey. I tried this and was pleasantly surprised. Great Value Organic Flour is a Great Product!
The best deal on organic flour for those trying to limit glyphosate exposure. I use it for all baked goods especially waffles and pancakes for the kiddos.
It's great honestly and the price is not at all expensive so why are people still buying the regular great value when the organic great value is a value on its self and healthier so don't second guess it guy buy it! It's yummy!
I used to buy a 17 oz bag of flour for pizza dough to essentially do the same thing, I now buy this 5 pound bag to make dough and tortilla wraps. Works perfectly as intended, and I'm getting more use for the same price for flour!
This is the only flour I buy. There's no added ingredients and the price is better than other brands . I typically make sandwich bread and cookies with this flour.
