unMeat is on to something with their products! I truly have become a fan. I wasn't too sure about the texture when this came out the can, but when I heated it up, put it over some rice O-M-G so delicious. It reminds me of a firmer tofu but definitely more flavor without having to marinade it. Happy customer! I
This stuff is so GOOD! They don't carry it in my area, so I am glad that I am able to order on Walmart. I like to cut it into cubes and add it to a can of white Northern Beans - super delish! I even like it straight out of the can, but it is even better when heated. Good stuff!
My Mr. eats meat, burgers, and spam. He liked this, and I am vegan, I liked it too. I cut it about 1/4" thick and put it in an iron skillet and made sandwiches. I also diced it and fried it in rice. Looking forward to other ways of cooking and eating this. I normally eat more natural/whole products but this doesn't seem too processed. I will keep buying it.
Vegan spam? Yes! So many of us grew up eating Spam, and we know it isn't the healthiest thing in the world. This stuff is my secret vice, people think it sounds disgusting but they haven't tried it. We find it quite tasty. We slice it thin and fry it up as a breakfast meat substitute, we julienne slice and cook it to to add to burritos, it makes good sandwiches, and you're still eating plant based. Some of the un-MEAT products are way too salty for us, we tried them and we know so check sodium levels. This we don't find too spicy and this is the one item that we consistently buy. Try it, you may be surprised!
I dont eat beef or ham bc of personsl reasons. I raise cows. This gets me thru those days where I just want a danged Sammich. Im an omnivor. Got slaughter houses here, and just made me lose my appetite a little bit. Anyway, I just love this stuff. its spicy and I eat it a bunch. Evan if I ate pork a lot, this still would be on my menu. Yummy ( P.S. The plain unmeat is good for a sammich, too) ;-)
Wonderful, I grew up on spam and also you to take as lunch on the job site. I have been a vegan for 20 years and the spice taste is better than the old days.
I'm a vegetarian, and this product is great replacement for SPAM (which has meat in it). The taste is very nice and pretty close to the real thing (I used to not be vegetarian). It's great for making Hawaiian style fried rice.
This is a great alternative for vegans. I made this and use soy sauce on it for more flavor. It's better when you cook it in slices instead of blocks. It is flavorful and great in rice or in recipes but you can tell it's a meat alternative. Will be buying again anyway.
The can was hard to open, the product was hard to get out of the can, the texture is spongy and it is a little too spicy. Like that it is not real meat (I don't eat animals) but don't like that it was made in the Philippines. Not sure about the quality so I ate one small piece and discarded the rest.
A new (to me) brand and product so I tried it out. It looked like luncheon meat but after frying some slices, it was rubbery and fairly tasteless. Not hot and spicy at all. I will not even eat the rest of it. I hope the cats like it.
