Gluten free baking is a challenge. But, this Great Value flour is a great value! I have used it in pie crust, banana bread, and other recipes. It is my go-to gluten free flour replacement. And, it's affordable! If you're new to “gluten free”, choose this flour!
I like this gluten free flour for baking cakes, cookies, or using to thicken gravy or for coating chicken for frying. It is much more affordable than most other brands. I like to keep a few extra bags in zip up bags in my freezer in case i need them.
Best gluten free flour…! I was absolutely shocked! After using to bake chocolate chip cookies… I only told our gluten free family member that it was safe for them to enjoy… and everyone weren't told what I used but thought they were delicious! We've tried many other brands… none of them great…often finding them gritty or not baking right…it was suggested by a friend to try Walmarts Great Value gluten free flour because they found it was easy to bake with and tasted wonderful…They were 100% right!!!
This is truly a one to one replacement for AP flour. I always recommend letting your batter sit at least 30 minutes to allow the components to fully hydrate before baling, then add your baking powder (if required by the recipe) and cook as directed - bake, fry, griddle or 'waffle'. If I don't tell them, people truly don't know it's gluten-free! I cook and bake for celiacs, so this is a critical component of my pantry.
Wow, I was not expecting this flour to be this good, I needed some gluten free flour quickly and this is what I could find. It is great for baking! I have been using King Arthur and everything aways had a gritty texture. This is so fine, no grit at all, you cannot tell your baked goods are gluten free. I have also used Bob's Red Mill, One to One, which was better than King Arthur, but still a bit gritty. Great Value is amazing, please try it, you will be so pleasantly surprised!
Excellent flour. I live very rural and struggle to get gluten free products delivered to my home. Dependable flour will continue to buy. Only wish it came in a larger size bag so I didn't have to buy 8 at a time. Otherwise the price is better than the brands I usually use, and in baking it has been a consistent blend.
I don't do a lot of baking because it's very hard for me. Also gluten-free hamburger buns are very expensive. I can get almost 3 times the buns from this flower that I can from one package of bottom buns I would recommend this flower if you're able to do your own baking.
Walmart continues to be the only place where I can purchase gluten free products that are in a smaller size package. I usually do not need 5 pounds of flour, as I use it to flour items before frying. I prefer Walmart over Amazon for their price, quality and quick delivery and the ease of returning items.
I am so happy Walmart carries an affordable gluten free flour. I've used it for gravies and it's been wonderful. I will continue to purchase this flour.
The product is great. However, the service at the pick up area is efficient. This is the second time that when I come to pick up my order there's no answer when I call, although there are no more than one other car in the pick up area. I then went to an employee, and it was quite a while until the order was found.
