Kitchen staples !! That's all I can say!! You never know when you may need this for a dish so I like to keep some On hand !! I am pleased with the flavor and quality of the product ! I am Always satisfied! The price is wonderful , you can't beat it !! I will keep these in my pantry !! You can make some many things with it !! Amazing buy !!
I like this way better than the name brand sauce it is not spicy at all does not hurt my stomach. I add some Italian Tomato Pasta Sauce with Roasted Garlic %26 Herbs for extra flavor and it turns out perfect. I will continue to but the great value brand
We bought this sauce since it was to be mild, it was very mild and will be our sauce go to from now on. I truly appreciate the fact that Walmart stocks a VERY mild enchilada sauce for we that want a very mild sauce with flavor just not to much spice.
This was just right. A jar of salsa and this and i had my Mexican pizza sauce lol Super cheap and while I have not tried other brands for a comparison I liked this one for the flavor and quality I used it for. When I make actual enchiladas I make my own.
I really like this red enchilda sauce, it has a good flavor and a very mild bit of heat. I made chicken and cheese enchildas and they are delicious. It is just as good if not better than the name brands which cost 2 or 3 times more. Like most everyone, I am exploring ways to save money and this is a wonderful find.
I like the smaller size can option. 10 ounces is perfect for what I use Red Enchilada sauce for. I love drizzling this on top of refried beans, and then top with a sprinkle of cheese for a quick high protein snack, light lunch or side dish. When I use it like this it is abput right for use over 3 servings. The seasoning is spot on...not hot, just lightly zippy. If you prefer hotter...rhan you can always use a dash of hot sauce, but We have an elderly family member, and a young grandchild that do not do hot, or spicy, but this Great Value Red Enchilada sauce has all the flavor without the spicy heat. This is available in larger size cans if you are making a casserole, etc.
When in doubt, go with the name brand. The GV price might be enticing, but the product quality is lacking. The cans I received from grocery delivery were all dented. Walmart has a habit of selling dented cans, which are something I do not buy. I know it is a risk when you do not shop yourself, but I was raised not to buy dented cans of food as the integrity of the contents was questionable. Employees selecting products should be cautious of the condition of the product packaging and if Walmart cannot provide products in good condition, then don't sell them.
dislike how bland and thin it was, bought a hot red enchilada sauce to mix with it for flavor. to mild for the real thing but I highly recommend if your going for a very mild and light sauce. taste like the sauce in the microwaveable dinners. I made a nostalgic tv dinner recipe for fun with it; roll up craft singles American cheese slices in corn tortillas and cover it with this sauce and bake until bubbly and toasted approx 15 minutes at 350 in a toaster oven. pair with microwaved canned refried beans and korr sides Spanish rice and you have the same flavor as the cheap enchilada tv dinners. I do recommend for older kids taste, my kids love it so if your making a mild batch for the kiddos you might want to try it. mixing it with Velveeta cheese mellows out what little bit of heat is in it.
I used to order a can or two of this from the local Walmart at least once a month. This month, they only had a 6 pack available to ship (not delivery). 5 of the 6 cans arrived dented (two of them very badly). It's a tasty, affordable sauce. But now that it's not available in single cans for delivery, I'm going to have to find something else.
One of my cans was completely dented. I don't appreciate a shopper picking up damaged product. I was unable to get out as I normally shop for myself. This is whyI shop for myself, but it would be nice if you are shopping for someone you don't get damaged product.
