This product has been around for over 2,000 years in Peru since the time of the Incas. Gives more energy and vitality.It is a superfood. I use it in my morning coffee.

My husband's new boss has been into a whole food, healthy eating, all natural kinda thing. When I mentioned my health issues and my picky eating, he suggested trying Macca powder. He mentioned I could add it to every I eat. He said he prefers it on his milkshakes. I decided to give it a try. Honestly, I stared at the sealed bag for a few days. I wasn't sure I would be brave enough. When he came over and saw my sealed bag, he decided he would push me over the edge and made me his special milkshake. First thing he did was to make me try it without Macca powder. It tasted good. Then w watched as he added two small scoops of Macca powder and frothed it again. He made me try it again. I reluctantly tasted and to my surprise I didn't taste anything different. Since he stayed for dinner, he and I added a little Macca powder to our mashed potatoes, our gravy, and our cheesecake. Turns out, you really can put it on pretty much everything and doesn't change the original flavor and you get all the benefits.

I made a little keto yogurt parfait with this: Walnuts Cinnamon Full fat, plain yogurt Dried blueberries Stevia drops Tasted great. I can't say I couldn't taste the maca, it has a subtle nutty flavor. It did change the color of the yogurt, but that's it. I can't say that I have more or less energy. Will know over longer time. This could sneak into a lot of different foods, if you're committed to getting more maca in your diet. Overall, it's unoffensive and unnoticeable.

I have heard a lot recently about maca powder but had not yet taken the leap to purchase it. I was excited to try this organic maca powder from LIVfit and see what it was all about. The back of the package reads that this is a “South American American super radish”, and that you can add this maca powder to nearly anything you desire for “added nutritional benefits”. This LIVfit maca powder is said to have a mild flavor. It is also organic, non-GMO, gluten-free and has been “gelatinized” to promote easier absorption. Many of us want to incorporate superfoods into our ways of eating without sacrificing flavor and/or taste, but this is likely one of those items that you consume because of its intended benefits as opposed to finding it absurdly delicious. Just a heads up, in case you are thinking of trying this powder right out of the bag – don't. I placed a small amount on a teaspoon to see what it tastes like and it stuck to the roof of my mouth and the back of my teeth! I had to do a lot of digging to remove it! When I added a tablespoon to my yogurt, I could immediately tell it acts as a gelatin and instantly thickened my yogurt, so be aware of this. I am not fond of the taste when added to yogurt, and I did find that it overpowered my Oikos Triple Zero strawberry (no-sugar added) yogurt. It definitely has an “earthy” flavor, much like a super greens powder would have with no added flavor (like orange) or sweetener. One thing I will say is that there are no added sugars in the LIVfit Maca Powder, and the only ingredient listed is the maca powder itself. This means you can add any sweetening agent of your choice when incorporating maca powder into recipes, such as monk fruit, organic honey or stevia. The bag has a recipe on the back for maca truffles, so I decided to make the recipe to get a feel for its versatility. As for the “maca truffles”, I would say that they are an acquired taste (perhaps more fruit or honey?!)! My fix was to sprinkle cinnamon on top and then layer it with yogurt, like Oikos Triple Zero coconut-flavored yogurt. Now, that was pretty tasty! Overall, this superfood may take some experimenting before you are able to enjoy it – but keep experimenting! I am sure you will find a way to enjoy it that suits you best. As I mentioned earlier, it's one of those superfoods that may provide so many benefits that you embrace the natural flavor. I absolutely appreciate that it is organic and non-GMO as those two attributes are always important to me. I highly recommend the LIVfit brand for organic maca powder.

It will take a little bit of getting used to, but it seems to be quality. My biggest problem is remembering to get it into my smoothies! But writing this review just may help me get that done! LOL And I am definitely buying more when I run out.

I've heard some of the hype about Maca powder, and I'm trying to increase my health this year. I thought “Why not try it?” Maca is touted as having many benefits, including increased fertility, virility, energy, and mental clarity, among others. I ordered this bag, not knowing very much about how the product is used. To my frustration, there are not really any directions listed on the package, other than “Add to smoothies, yogurt, shakes—the possibilities are endless.” It goes on to say that you can use it in baking. We added it to several different beverages, and while I rather liked it, my husband felt that it tasted too much like oysters for his liking. The only ingredient listed is organic Maca powder. At the bottom, there's a disclaimer that “consuming this product can expose you to chemicals including lead, which is known to... cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.” That's really the opposite of what one expects to get when consuming a supposed superfood, isn't it? With no real directions, I'm not even sure what the safe/effective amount to use might be, and with the warning, I don't feel good about guessing. So, I suppose that Maca powder has some reported benefits (hence the three stars), but I'm not really sure about it in its present packaging.

Okay so. This powder has a ton of health benefits, including labido. I actually do notice a difference in that. BUT. It is legit the worst powder I've ever tasted. I add green powder to my smoothies which I don't love because it's a bit grassy, but I decided since this said I could add it to oatmeal, smoothie, virtually anything because the taste was so mild, I went ahead and did that. I added it to my oatmeal and couldn't be handle more than a few nights. Physically heaved. It was so bad. And that was with plugging my nose. But I decided ya know what, I'll try it in a smoothie... I drank half of my usually smoothie and that was with plugging my nose. I can't even tell you what it tastes like. At one point it almost tasted like how raw fish smells. But also at one point it tasted like really bitter tasting hay. All I know is I am not willing to make this a daily thing because it's the worst taste ever. Wish I could say it was worth it.
