This is my first time using one of these appliances. I purchased a small inexpensive one to make my own single ingredient dog treats for my dog with food sensitivities. I used it to dry sliced sweet potatoes. The instructions were very easy and although I had to look elsewhere for instructions for this specific vegetable, the manual does have a few tips for others. It seemed to work well. They came out chewy as I wanted, the smaller ones were crispy which was fine. I have purchased a mandolin slicer to make it easier for me to cut the slices next time, and also have all the slices the same thickness. This is a nice product.
I'm having so much fun with this easy to use and perfect for someone who is just starting out and learning about dehydrating all kinds of fruits. My only two complaints are: only goes to 158 degrees and the shelves are 9 inches, which makes it impossible to find fruit sheets that fit. ( need to trim to fit)
I love dehydrators, this one was for my brother
works great need a larger one now
it was a gift and they loved it
I had been looking for a food dehydrate for quite some time that was small and compact. I like the size of this. The trays are very lightweight. I'm concerned, though that they may crack. They are very thin clear plastic. The only reason I gave it. A four star was because of the trays and because the instruction book tells you how many hours to dehydrate something, but does not tell you what temperature to use to dehydrate that item. It stated that it was between four and 10 hours for squash and in fact, it took 26 hours and I adjusted the temperature to the highest temperature after about 20 hours.
So far I'm very happy with it. Although it is a bit noisy.
This works perfectly for herbs and is a good size for that but if one tries to dry fruit, I fear it will become a sticky mess as there is no catch tray for juices. and it does not appear to be easily cleaned since the fan is around the outer edge. Advertise this as an herb drier and it will be perfect. Anyone drying fruits will be disappointed.
Bought this dehydrator June 17, 2025 and today is December 2, 2025 and it is now broken. Used it a number of times and it worked fine, but turned it on today. There's a loud noise and it doesn't do what it's supposed to do anymore. It should be something that lasts longer than less than six months, especially since it just sits on the counter and gets turned on and off
Too lightweight. Not sturdy. Not hot enough so takes too long compared to better models. Spend more, get a heavier, "real", dehydrator.
