Secret to cookies that don't spread too much in the oven. Makes them nice and fluffy, has the butter taste, and keeps their shape. Also, no waiting on butter to soften. It's good to go right from the can. Have used it in thousands of chocolate chip cookies for years with great success.
I bake and cook with this all the time. It's versatile, has a familiar butter-like flavor, and the cans last. A dependable staple for doughs and flaky pastries. I also use it for frostings, beat for a good amount of time to get rid of that unwanted waxy texture. Frosting with this lasts better in hot conditions.
This is my secret for perfectly delicious, flaky pie, crusts and more. OK, I know it's not the healthiest, but it really delivers when it comes to piecrust. Also use it for greasing pans never have any stick problems. I asked a pastry chef once what his secret was to their amazing pies and he said butter flavored Crisco, but not to tell anyone, lol.
I love baking with this. You get the effect of the shortening with the taste of butter. I don't like to use just butter because baked goods, specifically cookies, tend to come out flat. I always use a combination of butter and shortening. With this, it's all in one with one less step. Flavor is great and it's easy to scoop out of the can - easier and less messy than regular shortening.
I have used this for many years. it's a great product that makes a difference in baking especially but can be used other ways also. I always make sure that I have two at a time because I don't want to be without it . Having Walmart Plus is a great gift for being able to order but I still try to think ahead. Covid scared us all.. and so we learn.
this buttered Crisco has a nice thick %26 Creamy texture it great for baking or frying foods it just makes everything so good very economical good quality, better prices.
I have been using it for years when cooking instead of butter. It performs so much better then real butter. Doesn't burn that easy and works great when baking.
Crisco never changes, never disappoints! I've used only for as long as I remember and my Mother did the same! (No photo available... Poertzelke (fritters) are long gone by now!)
Crisco shortening is the staple ingredient in my chocolate chip cookie recipe. I started using the butter flavored Crisco several years ago and it made my cookies even better. Trust the old folks, it's the only way to go!
I actually remember when my mom used to buy this all the time when I was a kid and used it for our french fries. so because of that I decided to get some for nostalgic reasons and the taste was nothing like it used to be it's not as buttery for sure and it has more of a lard aftertaste than what it used to. You're still paying the price for the name which I think is not right.
