Good product %26 the flavor is good. Good texture. I put the can in the fridge because I like them cold %26 with cottage cheese.
I put these in a baking dish with 1 tblsp. of butter then sprinkle cinnamin on top to your liking and bake for 20 to 25 minutes. You can probably put them in the microwave for less time. Just haven't tried that yet. They are delicious
A dent in a can isn't dangerous unless it's deep with sharp edges, or on a seam. Del Monte is the highest quality in canned goods. Having said that, If you can smell what's inside before you open it, throw it out. It may have a pinhole. Google the subject of dented cans, you'll feel better. I set the syrup aside and put a scoop of ice cream (chocolate) in a bowl, then put a couple pear halves on top. i am wondering how to put the syrup to best use...How about adding it to Sangria?
I like canned pears. Be prepared to receive dented cans. I ordered 8 and everyone had huge dents from poor packaging for shipping. I have to open by hand because they won't go around my electric can opener. They really should be wrapped in heavier bubble wrap. The air pillows were all deflated inside the box from cans rolling around.
VITAMIX A can of peach halves in heavy syrup blend into a luscious smoothie. Add bits of anything you like to please your creative taste or leave plain. Delicious!
I grew up with this brand, so trust the quality of the products inside the cans. However, whoever packed my order should be spoken to because 5 of the 8 cans of pears that I purchased were severely dented. It's as if they were clearing out the bottom of the barrel. I had to check each can to make sure that there were no punctures that would cause the pears to become unsafe to eat. No order should be shipped out with this level of damage to the items ordered -- period! These badly dented items should have been removed from the inventory and not sent out to a paying customer! Very bad quality control!
I like the product but I never buy dented cans and more than half of the cans are dented. I will not buy anymore unless I can be assured they won't be dented. These should never have been sent.
I truly believe they send the “defective” items to their online shoppers. The product is not sufficient for stores' shelves so they ship with their online orders. Products are still usable but cans arrived dented.
Please teach you packers how to pack. In one box half the cans had big dents in them, because they were not packed properly. One was dented so badly that when I punched the top of it with a can opener some of the juice shot out like a geyser. This happens with about half the boxes. Great product except Walmart sent 6 cans in a box that would fit 20 cans. There was a bit of padding at the bottom, but all 6 of the cans are dented from rolling around a huge box. Stupid.
