I've had this for several weeks now, and it has made life easier for me. It isn't terribly heavy, and like all Dyson products, the suction is excellent. It has two settings which I've found useful; it just isn't necessary to use the high suction setting on tile or laminate flooring. My one complaint is that the mechanism that is used to empty the dust bin is sticky and catches on itself often, I'm always in fear that I broke something. The directions in how to use it are vague, and while I've figured out how to do it, it doesn't always slide out as it should. The runtime seems to be adequate, My wife ran the battery down once, but it generally has plenty of power to last through the end of the jobs we need it for.
I absolutely LOVE the Dyson It is very difficult for me to take apart to empty- in fact I can't do it at all- my husband has to empty for me. Also the battery doesn't last very long at all.
We bought the Dyson V8 Absolute and have found it very difficult to open the container when it needs to be emptied. Very fiddly to open and seems to be very delicate as we do not want to force it to come apart as it may break. We have had Dyson's in the past and they have been very sturdy and felt strong and smooth to handle. I thought Dyson's were the best vacuum cleaners but Overall very disappointed with this model.
I have 2 dogs and vacuum frequently, certain areas need touch ups more often. Wanted a cordless to make my life easier (things are harder at 68). Very disappointed in this vacuum considering the price and Dysons great reputation. The thing I most dislike is the "on trigger". You have to old the trigger on the entire vacuum. Very difficult with arthritic hands. Second disappointing feature is the suction, very weak on the low setting, which only gets you about 25 minutes if your lucky. The Turbo suction is better, but only gets you a few minutes. Would have expected longer running batteries at this price. Very unhappy with my purchase. I had another cheap cordless that had as much going for it as this one. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was that it is light weight and maneuvers well. Have only had it about a month, so we will see how it holds up. Seems a slightly flimsy build.
I've had the Dyson V8 for 2 weeks and I am disappointed in the battery life. I am also disappointed that the dirt bin only fills on one side above the max line, and the other side is completely empty. Because of this, I have to empty several time in a single cleaning. Also the dust bin is very difficult to open to empty and even harder to return back into place. I have another Dyson model that works great and does not have any of these issues.
I just used my new vacuum for the first time and the battery didn't even last long enough to finish a small bedroom. I had to charge it three times to use it throughout my small townhome. Dyson is sending me a new battery and hopefully that fixes it, but not what I was hoping for when spending so much money on a vacuum.
Charge it overnight. Use it for five minutes and the power goes out. One second back on the charger and it's running again for a couple of minutes. Wish it worked as advertised...
For the price I paid I would expect the battery to last longer than 15 minutes. Then it takes 3 to 4 hours to charge. And I just got it. Don't waste your money.
No, because I can't even use it at the moment. Second time trying to empty the dust bin, it became stuck and now won't go up or down. So I'm not overly impressed with Dyson. My options are to send it back, which is a pain or try to find someone locally who can fix it - also a pain! When I called Dyson I was told just to find someone stronger who can dislodge the bin for me - are you kidding me? It shouldn't be this hard to pull it up in the first place.
Battery dies too fast. Charges for too long for it to only last 10mins. Kinda disappointed on how fast it dies.
