Dealing with an offset smoker requires adding coals and wood. Without this chimney I had to add coals and squirt starter fluid and it took several minutes, which meant the grill temperature going down quite a bit. By prestarting these charcoals with this chimney, I could add fully burning charcoals in less than 30 seconds. I did this, and it worked as advertised. Perfect little addition to my smoking tools.

A bit heavier than others, but that speaks well of its seemingly ruggedness. Only complaint is that it's a little more difficult to ignite the lump charcoal with it, but hey, if this lasts as long as I think that it will, it's a great bang for the buck. It helps out quite well in a pinpoint starting/recharging of your cook while helping prevent a lot of waste.

The chimney can also be used to make a "Rocket Stove" thats better than those sold, or made in "Naked and Afraid" last one standing episode. Of course they didn't have the advantage of this chimney.

I love the fact that I no longer need to blow on my coals until I pass out to get them started. This magical charcoal chimney starter does an excellent job doing just that. Maybe add a little starter fluid if you need it real quick.

The product does exactly what it is designed for and that is to light charcoal without lighter fluid etc. Ease of use is fine. Great value for the money.

This sturdy chimney makes grilling with charcoal so much easier! It allows me to easily get the proper amount to get things going. The price is great which make this purchase a total winner!

My issue was not with the product, but for the fact that due to all of the Christmas decorations already being in the store, other items on the shelves are limited. This charcoal starter showed in stock, but was not out. I had to order it online in order to get it.
