Google S3003LWES, Nest Protect Wired Split-Spectrum Sensor Smoke Alarm

Easy to install. Comfort of knowing it connects to my phone and can verbalize the issue along with warning beeps. Both smoke and CO2 in one provides added security. The night light feature is convenient and I no longer have to turn on my hallway light for quick trips in and out of the upstairs bedrooms.

Did not attempt to install on my own. Once installed it was very easy to add to google app. Just make sure to scan the barcode on the back before attaching to the wall. This went in a remote office and it's a great way to have the temp right before arriving and reduced temp at the end of the day.

Great device, can't fault the design or functionality but be aware that depending on when the device is manufactured impacts on how long it will last, my brand new protect purchased in December 2020 is already a year and 2 months old so will need replacing in Sep 2029, still a significant life span but you will never get the 10 years Google specify and could get a lot less depending on how long it's been sat in a warehouse.

Love the product but they stop working after 10 years from manufacturing. I had to return these because they had been manufactured 6 years ago so they only had a few years of life left.

Discovered upon opening package that the manufacture date was 2021 and the unit would autoatically disable itself after 10 years (only 6 years from now). Definitely should not have paid nearly as much given that the unit would shut down after only 60% of it's life.

Please know that when you purchase these from Walmart, they will send you old ones. These are supposed to last 10 years. They sent me 9 year old detectors that I now have to replace again. These cost way too much to replace every year.

Purchased in June 2025, opened in August to find out it expires in just over a year. Contacted Google/Nest only to be told the warranty expired in 2017 and they would not do anything to replace it. Terrible customer service.

These devices have a fixed life of 10 years. One delivered as part of this order was made in 2018, which means that it expires in 2028. So, 70% of its life has already passed. This is not included in the product description but it should be, however impossible that Amy be with multiple units available.

It's 2025, and Walmart is selling these safety devices—with a 10-year shelf life—that were manufactured in 2017 and 2018, and charging full price. That means you're only getting 2–3 years of usable life from something meant to last a full decade. These are not discounted or marked as close to end-of-life, so most customers wouldn't know unless they check the fine print. This is misleading and unfair. Be sure to check the manufacture date before purchasing—or better yet, look elsewhere.

There are only 2 years useful life on this detector. Date of manufacture was 2017 and date of expiration is 2027. Walmart sold as new... but unaware of lifespan.
