I purchased a single grilled cheese maker and after maybe 15 uses the cheese stock so badly I could not remove it so I threw it away and ordered this one which said it was nonstick and also it makes two sandwiches instead of one. So far no problems. I love it. But the single one I bought cooked the sandwiches and then the light would go out so you knew they were done. On this one a lot of the times they are a little overcooked because there is no way to know when they are done.

I absolutely love this little gadget as it makes the best grilled cheese The only thing that I do not like about it is that it does not completely cut the sandwich in half it kind of keeps it in a pocket if you will But other than that, it is definitely worth the money that I bought it for anyway on sale

So I was skeptical but I actually really like it. I tried both with no butter and with butter, I like the butter version better it resembles a grilled cheese more and tastes better. So I recommend adding butter even though it says you dont have too! I've used it 2 times and it's simple, really easy to use. I will say at first it seemed that its was a little jiggly but I havent had issues. Of course I dont throw around my kitchen cookers.

I bought it for the Gotham steel name brand to be honest. I was a bit disappointed with the quality. It was kinda cheaply made. Inside the plates are good and non stick but the plastic is junk. Yet, it is easy for the kids to use and has an indicator light to show when it is ready. Not too bad for $20 though!

My Husband Made Egg, Sausage, And Cheese Sandwiches In Ours Today And They Were Delicious! He Made Ham, And Cheese Sandwiches One Time And They Were Tough! I Had A Sandwich Maker Before And Pizza One's Turned Out Great! You Definitely Need To Butter The Bread So It Won't Be Tough! I Don't Think That Is In The Recipes, But I Always Did And They Were Never Tough!

I bought this while out of town for 3 weeks so I could make hot sandwiches when I got back to my hotel. Since everything closed early due to the CCPvirus I had to adapt. I used it probably 15 times max, 4 or 5 times in the hotel and the rest when I got back home. I have only had this for less than 2 months. Tonight I was just wanting a grill cheese (without making a mess) and put it all together, different shredded cheeses and bread. When I shut the lid tonight it cracked the top. I wasn't putting any pressure on the lid but it snapped it any way. It is still functional but I probably wont use it any more. I guess you get what you pay for. It did melt the shredded cheese perfectly and nothing ever stuck to it without spraying anything on it. Sucks that it broke so easily. Now I have to go back to the traditional way. Traditional way is better since I use alot of butter with them, and with this I didnt use any. Ohh well this should be $10, $15 max not $20.

Item broke on first use. This was using just plain white bread and cheese to try it out. The tip piece cracked immediately upon closing. Poor quality item

The item is nice looking and non-stick surface works well. Out of the box it feels flimsy, but could be a OK item for the price. Unfortunately the plastic used in product is extremely cheap and fragile. I'm not overstating this - the top part broke on the 1st use. And it was not over-stuffed at all - just 2 pieces of bread with a slice of cheese in-between. Plastic broke before I even finished closing. It is still operational, but does not inspire confidence in the quality and longevity of the product. I should have read other reviews before buying - many others reported same type of quality issues.

The plastic casing broke in 2 places upon first use of the grill. The copper plates are easy to clean following the user manual, however, the copper plates cannot be removed easily to clean anything that spills over the sides. Returned the item.

there is NO on/off button or temperature control. You have to plug and unplug it from the wall or you might burn your home down if you do not unplug it. Make good grilled cheese with butter but if you want to add meat of more fillings than slice cheese it will turn your bread into a tortilla. very disappointed buy the George foreman grill
