Great Value All-Purpose Flour, 10LB Bag

For this price it is the most sensible of AP flour purchases. I've never had any problems with opening the bag and having any weird bugs. I always open the bag right away and put it in a food grade storage container. I use this for all my recipes with great success. When I use it for baking I find that sifting it helps produce the structure I'm looking for especially with my bagels.

Great price and a really good option if you don't care about buying name brand. It works just as expected for baking and cooking, and I've had no issues with quality. For the amount you get, it's definitely a good value and something I'll keep buying.

I use this flour for my everyday buns, hoagie rolls, dinner rolls, soft breads gravy, stews, soups, sauces, and even batter! It works well and tastes great! You can't tell in recipes whether I use the great value flour or other “higher end” brands! Turns out the same!!

I have been using this flour for years, to bake everything from snack cakes to homemade bread - including sourdough. It is a great flour. It has enough protein to make good yeast bread (although, if you want an extra chewy bread, like a homemade bagel, opt for Great Value Bread Flour). I get great quality without spending extra for fancy brands.

Lately, there is some controversy about the presence of carcinogens in some brands of flour. Because this isn't organic, it's possible that chemicals used in growing the wheat have been introduced into the food chain. Also note that 'organic' means so many different things to everyone that just because it's labeled organic, actually doesn't mean anything. Only laboratory testing can verify the grower's definition of organic and that just isn't happening.

It was a very large volume of high quality flour for a very reasonable price. I might have chosen unbleached flour for more fancy recipes, but the bleached flour is better for more generic baking. I noticed that Walmart would benefit from a professional delivery department instead of contractors. The contractors don't seem to care much when handling packages. Also, the packing department tends to throw glass and other objects loosely in a bag, which is vulnerable to damage.

The paper package with flour was ripped and flour spilled all over the shipping box. For some reason I could not attach photos, even though chatgpt resized images to less than 10 mb. So I do have images to prove faulty packaging. Now have to throw everything away.

I've received all of my items that I ordered and I'm pleased with that part the problem that I have is that when the package got delivered nobody knocked on my door that's one two I'm a disabled woman I can't be lifting that heavy stuff and I had 20 lb between 10 lb sugar 10 lb flour that alone was heavy on top of everything else that was in there so in my future orders I would like it to be documented somewhere that they are to knock on that door I have a doorbell nobody rang the doorbell so thank you the rest of everything else I'm pleased

i am not reviewing the flour. what i am reviewing is the system that doesn't work and the fact that it took 20 minutes to get my groceries. A young man came to my car and asked if i had checked in. I told him yes and he left. He came back and asked my name which I told him. He then asked for my last name and i told him i already gave it to him. He tapped on his device a few minutes and then asked me to type the information for him. when he cobalt found my order it took another 10 minutes to get it in my trunk. i had less than 20 items!

I got flour delivered today and there was a hole in the bag which I didn't notice until after I filled my container up and while doing so a chunk of wood fell out of the flour when I was pouring it from the package. Unacceptable! I tossed the entire contents of the bag and my flour jar. Disappointing! Lesson learned to never refill my container until it's totally empty next time. No flour for me!
