I make almond flour pancakes for my 7 year old son, its his absolute favorite. He likes it waaayy more than regular pancakes. Its completely healthy add 2 eggs, a pinch of salt, 2 cups of almond flour, 3 tablespoons of melted butter and half a cup of milk. If your looking for healthy flours for you and your family this is a must!
On a low carb diet this is wonderful to make biscuits or anything that you would use regular flour for specially if you’re a diabetic need to watch your carb intake this is great
it's just as good as blue diamond, great for baking, covering chicken instead of breadcrumbs makes it have a unique flavor. Best stored in refrigerator.
I love this stuff! first of all, I fins it very reasonably priced for being all almond flour. It is ground to a nice consistency. We use it to coat chicken and fish, and it gives it a whole new flavor! I actually prefer this to coating them in flour. the only thing is, you have to be aware that the almond flour browns little faster and you may need to watch it so your chicken gets all the way done. Really tastes great. I also like to use nut flours to make crusts for cheesecake and if you mix almond and pecan together it is delicious!
Almond flour is always higher than white flour. There are many brands much higher than the Great Value, however it is just as good and my baked items turn out well.
I use almond flour for all my Keto baking (cakes, breads, pie crusts, etc.). This Great Value brand performs as well as the pricier name brands with great results. I appreciate the fact that it is a “superfine” grind which makes for lighter, less dense baked goods. FYI: Keto baked goods will never have the same texture as those made with wheat flour (almond flour is not as absorbent as wheat flour) so the “superfine” option is a plus!
I tried this flour due to changing diet for more healthy eating. I use this now to replace bread crumbs for dusting fish, such as salmon patties. I also have used it to dust regular chicken, and fish as well. You tend to have to watch it on things that you are actually frying. As it tends to burn a bit easier than just normal flour/spice mix for coating.
Number one problem it's supposed to be a resealable bag but it was defective ... one side was not made properly. So I had to repackage it. That seems to be a Great Value issue I wish you guys could address I buy Great Value shredded cheese and up until a couple of years ago those resealable bags were worthless but they have gotten better. I have not used almond flour before but everything I read indicated a fine texture I used it to make dumplings and it was very coarse . maybe that was not a good application for almond flour but I was not pleased
The flour tasted stale and old…even after baking. I checked the expiration date and it was 2026 so not sure why the flour tasted so bad.
I stored it properly in my refrigerator and in a very short time, it had bugs in it. I have never bought an almond flour with bugs in it. I won't buy it again.
