This has been a great microwave - simple to operate, and very reliable. We use it for the most basic of functions, so we were not looking to spend extra dollars for features we'd never use. The price of this unit was great, and it actually looks fantastic with our stainless steel appliances. The main feature that I was adamant about was a physical door handle rather than the troublesome push button door opener, and this fit the bill nicely. Thus far, this microwave does everything well and has been a perfect replacement for our previous 15 year old unit that finally bit the dust. It should be noted that the child-proof door lock - a feature that has gained the ire of many users over all brands - is EASILY defeated on this unit with a simple one-time code entry (clearly included in the instructions). While no review of this type can address the ultimate longevity of the product, we're extremely pleased with our purchase thus far, and would not hesitate to recommend it based on our experience.
Nice design, easy operation. only down side is they are owned by Midea. Midea is terrable to work with and have a failure rate of 23%, Hamilton has a failure rate of 5% and if you have warranty issue are much easier to deal with. Good disposable inexpensive Microwave.
the microwave itself is pretty good but I hate the child lock you can turn it off but next time you use it the lock is back on!?!?! I don't have any need of it. There are no children that are ever in my apartment there needs to be a way to totally eliminate it not just shut it off until the door is closed again extremely annoying
We bought the previous model and liked it. However, on the new one, the door locks and you have to cancel the settings before you open. Hate the extra step.
Why would the manufacturer put a sticker on the front glass door of this microwave, that leaves a very sticky glue residue behind? I went to the store and purchased goof off to try to remove the glue residue. No luck. It's a decent microwave, but there's a sticky glue residue on the front door that seems almost impossible to get off without scratching it. Foolish.
The Microwave seems fine. It is a basic mid powered offering. Fine if you are looking for something to primarily reheat foods. I have, however, run into 2 problems. One could easily be resolved but the other is a little concerning. 1) I have been unable to clean the adhesive they used to attach the sticker to the door on the glass. I have used Goof Off, Alcohol and glass cleaner. Acetone would be the next option but I am concerned that it might eat away at the finish. I have attached a pic of the residue that has been left behind. 2) The microwave starts on its own if you ever so slightly pull the door open. The machine actually comes on and the tray starts to spin. I realized this was happening when I was trying to remove the above fore mentioned sticker. I am able to repeat this manually by ever so gently pulling on the handle. I don’t have children around my house so I am not overtly worried about it but it does raise a couple questions as to why it’s happening and whether or not it’s dangerous. I would post a video but Walmart doesn’t allow it. These 2 issues are enough to make me suggest people look elsewhere if they need a Microwave.
Item is brand new and while it cooks fine, I have had it start leaking fluid twice. I can't put down a rhyme or reason to it. I'm going to try to move it and see if that helps, but if it leaks a third time, I'm just going to have to find a different brand. I have never had a microwave do this before, so I'm left baffled.
I need to know who is the idiot who had the good idea of putting the sticker that can't be peeled right on the front door, and did that same idiot design the door lock system? Someone needs to be fired because I'm 30 seconds from returning this stupid thing! I only bought this one because I had the previous model, and it was excellent. Whoever made these changes needs to be fired immediately!
After a very short time. I noticed a smell coming from microwave when using. It was the smell of hot electronics. After a few min of using microwave, it would shut off. I cant undrrstand how things like this happen shortly after purchasing it. Quality is very bad for this to happen practically right out of the box, Now I have to go tjrough the pain of getting it sent back. Not happy at all with this microwave.
This microwave is the same exact wattage as my old microwave. Don't understand what happened or how, but I've purchased this 01/13/26 and on 01/22/26 I smelled a wiry burning smell and found this thing had somehow melted the outlet it was plugged into. Will try to upload pics on here if I can but you can clearly see the burn marks on the plug itself! I've been living in this same house for 13 years and never had any appliance ever do this. so yeah, I'm pretty mad.
