Herdez is my family's favorite Chipotle pepper in adobo sauce brand. We are hooked on the amazing smokey and spicy flavor. This is how we use it most often: I dump two cans of these peppers along with all the sauce into a blender with a 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar, 2 Tbs of good olive oil, and add enough water to get the right consistency - so yummy. We add it to almost every savory meal. It tastes incredible on all types of meat, baked potatoes, and I even add a bit to my salad dressing for a fantastic smoky kick. We definitely recommend this brand. So good!
Blended this product in a chicken marinade. it added a great Smoke flavor and some heat.
These peppers and sauce are delicious and wonderfully super hot! I used them first to make a creamy Chipotle sauce with Greek yogurt, and one can made multiple batches of mild, hot, and fire sauce! There is no overwhelming vinegar taste, AND it kept in the fridge for WEEKS, as fresh as day one! Unopened can shelf life: I had this can sitting in waiting for over a year. Keep this on hand for the next time you catch a wild hair and want to make homemade chipotle anything! It will last, and one small can goes FAR.
I have started adding one full can chopped fine in my favorite chili recipe. It's just awesome. This particular brand works really well IMO. I've made this a half dozen times and I swear the chili disappears wicked fast
These are lovely little flavor bombs. Use one to add an earthy smokiness. Use two or more for spicy flavor. If your recipe calls for one or two, you can freeze the leftovers. Place them in a gallon bag, lay them out flat with space in between. Next time you need one, just snap one off. Spread the sauce out evenly among the peppers, a little of that enhances flavor. Freeze it flat, then it doesn't matter if they separate once frozen. Good for chili, stew, and recipes.
decided to use it for some homemade chipotle chicken breast for sandwich melts. heck even made some burrito bowls with the extra chicken and was a great smokey flavor and the spice which I love. I mixed in a blender some of the adobo and peppers with mayo and lime juice for an aioli and I'd say is better then to buy the bottled stuff and way cheaper. it's under 2 dollars and I don't mind it as it's the same as dona consteña brand. so give it a try with a recipe and I bet you won't regret it.
super tasty and convenient! Use the adobo sauce for mild heat and smokiness, chop the peppers for more intense heat and flavor
I rarely use chipotle peppers, so I don't purchase this item very often. I needed some last-minute for a recipe, so I ignored the fact that there are extra additives. Normally, just some peppers and vinegar will do the trick. This item has some other things added, unfortunately. The taste was good, and it worked great in the recipe!
Alot more in that little can than previously thought, small amount goes along way. Had a good kick to it, first time using this brand. Ended up splitting it for another recipe later, glad I did. Three peppers, a couple teaspoons of sauce, made dish spicy…unless I'm just a wimp. Nice smokey flavor.
love these peppers in my dip or tacos
