The reason I purchased the HP OfficeJet Pro 8139e was because I wanted to upgrade from my other HP printer. I needed a reliable printer that is very dependable and a very trusted brand. This printer is great for printing documents and pictures in great outstanding quality.
A little difficult to pair it to my HP computer and my home internet, but after several attempts it worked. The printer works very well once it is paired with the wireless connection, but it wasn't seamless. Nevertheless, it a very good and responsive device.
Printer is fast and pretty sleek with the digital screen. A little concerned that it has trouble staying connected when we try to print. Seems to lose the connection from time to time.
The directions to unpack and set up the printer were clear. There was a need to follow the directions closely and not rush any steps. The result was that I have a printer that works well and prints clearly.
I got a new HP (ProBook) laptop and have two printers each on a different local network. My older printer just came up and ran on the new computer. This printer took some effort to install. I used the HP AI tool to guide me through the issues. It took about an hour which required a couple of cycles through the process to get it right. The AI tool changed the process slightly on each iteration, but it did succeed. After I got it installed its quality is as expected and has not exhibited any issues to date though scanning documents are a little more difficult on the new system. I have not tried photo copping as yet. I use medium resolution generally.
The printer is very good . We have a small business and it operates well for the needs. The Texh team were also very helpful in sorting a few issues out . I have put 4 stars due to the let down by HP in supplying ink . This is the 2nd printer we have had with ink and the same old failure , which HP Just won't listen to . They leave it far too late so send ink . So I had to go and buy ink as once again not sent in an appropriate manner . HP when will you learn .
This printer is a good value for the money and generally prints well. Unfortunately, it seems to have a lot of connectivity issues. It frequently disappears from my network and needs to be reconnected.
My experience with this printer has been very disappointing. It started with difficulty getting setup help. It took me an entire day to setup this printer. Using paper of different sizes is also frustrating. The latest issue is, for some reason, the printer does not work when I have laptop VPN enabled. I currently have no issue printing to my older HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 when VPN is enabled. This will be the last HP printer I buy.
So far it has not been as reliable as my old 8600 printer. It loses its WIFI connection too easily and then intermittently emits an alarm about the lost connection which cannot be permanently disabled which is quite annoying. Was unable to activate the free 1 year of instant ink without making it tied to the printer forever which is misleading advertising.
You don't want a review if you limit it to 100 letters. Neither me nor my husband could set it up. My Son had to come over and he set it up in a few minutes. We have had many HP printers and set them up ourselves. We may be getting older but not stupid. I have trouble printing! First it prints from the back to the front-I don't like that. It did pint the whole document and now it prints only 3 pages and stops. Even when I write down the numbers I want it to print, it started at the back and printed 3 of the last page last night. I don't like not having print preview and I don't like the box that comes up when I ask it to print. I like my last printer which was a HP7900; but it died and I thought we had a better one when we bought this one. Oh No. I would love to get my hands on a HP7200 again with the big ink wells and everything. I love that one.
