Kidde Battery-Operated Combination Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector, Voice Alerts

I bought it because my other one was over 10 years old and was starting to Malfunction. I bought it a month ago and the stupid thing woke me up at 4:30 AM to tell me there was a fire which was incorrect. Not sure why it decides to do it so early in the morning could have done that At 6 PM.

This was a replacement smoke/carbon monoxide detector that had expired after six years. Works fine, has voice alarm as well for fire or carbon monoxide. The mounting ring from my old detector worked with this new one. Didn't have to reinstall a new mounting ring. Comes with AA batteries so one less thing to deal with.

Item that I purchased works well after testing and seems to be a good value for the money spent. I will continue to make purchases from this seller when needed.

Stopped working a few months later, gave an internal error code. I reset it per the company's instructions, and a month later it started giving an error code again.

The back doesn't attach so I can't hang it up - I can see how it's supposed to attach, but it doesn't actually fit right so it doesn't slide in like it's supposed to, which is ridiculous for a $50 detector. I have it on a shelf. Every few days it lets out a single beep. I should have returned it but there weren't a lot of combination options.

Bought to replace a similar model. Overall this is a great item. It fit in the existing bracket from the old detector. However this one was a bit difficult to get in place. The notches just would not engage with the slots in the bracket. It finally did after multiple attempts. I like the voice alert and the different type of beeps that it uses for the different alerts. Voice alert is not quite loud enough for my elderly mother to distinguish but the beeps certainly are. I gave 4 stars for battery life. It says 10 years, previous models lasted 15 (from experience-I replaced the original myself).

After three months the alarm went off indicating there was smoke, but there was no smoke. After holding the button down to hush it, it completely turned off and there's no blinking light. After a week I held the button down to turn it back on and it immediately started beeping again indicating smoke. When I hushed it it completely turned off again. We bought it as a CO detector but if it's off it won't protect us. Not sure who to reach out to about the 10 year warranty.

I have two concerns of importance . 1) First the bracket needs retooling as it barely hangs on to the detector. I'm worried it's going to fall off the bracket. Bracket is securely placed 2). And the green light doesn't light up or blink to show it's working. According to the instructions the green light is supposed to be lit. Please respond back as it makes me anxious to think it's not working properly and giving a false sense of security. Installed today 05/08/2026 with batteries included. Delivered from the Walmart store in new sealed packaging today.

Super easy to install! I don't know about the battery life totally yet. I haven't had it for that long. I like that it also has detector for carbon monoxide.

this alarm replaced an existing one that lasted about 10 years… Easy to install and I found the old one was very dependable. That is why I purchased the same Meaghan model.
