Kidde Battery-Operated Combination Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector, Voice Alerts

Bought to replace a similar model. Overall this is a great item. It fit in the existing bracket from the old detector. However this one was a bit difficult to get in place. The notches just would not engage with the slots in the bracket. It finally did after multiple attempts. I like the voice alert and the different type of beeps that it uses for the different alerts. Voice alert is not quite loud enough for my elderly mother to distinguish but the beeps certainly are. I gave 4 stars for battery life. It says 10 years, previous models lasted 15 (from experience-I replaced the original myself).

it was easy to hang up and it works when I test it. thankfully I havent had any fires. It hasnt accidentally gone off while cooking either. Not sure about battery life as Ive only had them for a couple of months

I have been lax in replacing my alarms...these were exactly what I needed with both alarms ability in one unit..I did shop around for price, availability %26 combination of alarms %26 am very pleased I purchased these.

Very good quality smoke and carbon monoxide detector! It was well worth the price and extremely easy to install. It took me less than 5 minutes to install it.

The back doesn't attach so I can't hang it up - I can see how it's supposed to attach, but it doesn't actually fit right so it doesn't slide in like it's supposed to, which is ridiculous for a $50 detector. I have it on a shelf. Every few days it lets out a single beep. I should have returned it but there weren't a lot of combination options.

I have two concerns of importance . 1) First the bracket needs retooling as it barely hangs on to the detector. I'm worried it's going to fall off the bracket. Bracket is securely placed 2). And the green light doesn't light up or blink to show it's working. According to the instructions the green light is supposed to be lit. Please respond back as it makes me anxious to think it's not working properly and giving a false sense of security. Installed today 05/08/2026 with batteries included. Delivered from the Walmart store in new sealed packaging today.

After three months the alarm went off indicating there was smoke, but there was no smoke. After holding the button down to hush it, it completely turned off and there's no blinking light. After a week I held the button down to turn it back on and it immediately started beeping again indicating smoke. When I hushed it it completely turned off again. We bought it as a CO detector but if it's off it won't protect us. Not sure who to reach out to about the 10 year warranty.

Stopped working a few months later, gave an internal error code. I reset it per the company's instructions, and a month later it started giving an error code again.

Repeatedly malfunctioned during attempts to set-up. Tried with two additional sets of new batteries after initial effort with set given, careful to insert properly each time. Had trouble getting test to audibly confirm at first, then intermittent flash of light followed (as an operational indicator) but a loud "chirp accompanied each l.e.d. flash. I have purchased and confidently used all of my home safety alarms and fire suppression devices for many years. I hope this is not a sign that a once very reliable company providing fire and CO2 alarms, is now poorly or no longer quality controlled.
