I like that I can get a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector all in one.
Ugh. Seriously? Previous version, had easy wiring harness attach on top. This one want you to slide the harness in from the side. Same three pins, but plastic harness now won't fit. No options for an adapter. So looks like gotta blow some money on an electrician or handyman. Not cool.
this product stinks. It's impossible to get the battery cover off, therefore, impossible to change the batteries. What very poor design; what genius created this?
Reading all the other reviews help me understand that I'm not the only one with the same issue. I emailed the kiddie.social email without putting a review, I'm 10 days from that email without any kind of response. I replaced my old combination Kiddie with these, got 6 and now I wish I wouldn't of trashed the old ones
★☆☆☆☆ Worst Product Ever – Do Not Buy This smoke and carbon monoxide detector is an absolute nightmare. At 3 AM, it suddenly started beeping non-stop and triggered a CO alarm. As a precaution, we had to call 911 and evacuate everyone — including our elderly parents — into the hallway in the middle of the night. Emergency responders arrived, checked everything thoroughly, and thankfully confirmed it was a false alarm. The culprit? A faulty detector. Even after removing it from the wall, the unit kept beeping. There's no visible way to replace the batteries or reset it. We were left completely helpless trying to stop the noise. Eventually, we had no choice but to break it apart just to make it stop. This is completely unacceptable, especially for a device that's supposed to provide safety and peace of mind. Save yourself the stress and do not buy this product.
Our electrician installed this smoke/co detector a couple of years ago. It started chirping three times in a row with a red light. We tried changing the batteries but it happened again. I thought maybe it was because of humidity so I ran the dehumidifier but it went off again. Because it's connected to the other smoke alarms it made all of them go off. My elderly parents were scared each time. Now that I'm reading these reviews I'm glad to know that there is obviously an issue with this particular alarm. I just bought a new alarm so I'm hoping it won't have the same problem.
Linked hardwired system. Detector mounted up 20' on a vaulted ceiling went off. No smoke, no CO … no reason. Probably the cleanest area of the house. Design made it impossible to disconnect with 1 hand so I was unable to disconnect it. Vacuumed it, reset it, and it went off again for no legitimate operational reason. Maddeningly loud and difficult to access means this was no joke. I finally got it to stop ( I hope) but if not I'll have to track down a technician at 7:30 Saturday evening in rural MT. O
Horrible - Just goes off middle of night multiple times. The plug design is bad enough to tough pull it out when false alarm is going off
Unit malfunctions constantly. New construction less than 2 years old. We've replaced the batteries multiple times in less than 2 years.
This product deserves 0 stars because we got it installed and it gives us the dreaded 3 beeps every minute for no reason. We have changed battery multiple times but it keeps happening multiple times a week. Never buying this brand again!
