hi, I make bread with my bread machine and this flower seem to work really well. I made some apricot bread as well as both white and whole wheat breads. They came out well they taste good and the flower grind seems to be really good. I'm not having any problems like I do with gluten-free bread and I'd highly recommend that you use this especially when it's for sale under five dollars for 5 pounds
King Arthur Baking Company, Non-GMO Project Unbleached Bread Flour meets the need for my baking, especially for sourdough, which needs flour that is not bromated. It also uses no artificial preservatives of any kind. By using this flour I feel I make healthier breads that are delicious choices without compromising texture or taste
The only thing I would change is protecting the Flour with a plastic bag or something instead of it being thrown in a box with other items that break the PAPER the flour comes in. It's upsetting when the flour is all over everything in the box and I lose part of it. And it is quite a mess!
Oh King Arthur, the literal king of flour! I use this stuff for my sourdough bread, bagels, and home made pretzels. Using King Arthur, I know I'm getting a quality product. Buying it from Wal-Mart, I get the best price.
my wife doesn't make bread or bread products with any othee flour. she says it worth the extra money all day. i agree the bread does taste and turn out better.
I've tried getting the bargains, tried store brands, standard brands, I'm done. It takes time and hard work to make your familys' meals, breads, whatever, I'm tired of being disappointed. White Lily had bugs, other brands came bleached and killed my starter because I'm not used to bleached... No rise, low rise, inconsistent results, that all stopped when I spent that extra few cents per ounce and went back to the King! My breads have consistent texture, rise, crumb, and flavor again now that I went back to KA. I'm tired of messing around and trying to save a buck on a bag! Our family is worth the buck. For less hassle and dependable results, I'm not going back to chasing a bargain and getting just a low quality product. It's the King for a reason! It's good to be the King...
I have been baking all of my life and always used economic ingredients, i.e. cheapest flour etc. I recently tried King Arthur and I was taken aback at the increase in the quality of my baked goods. If you take a cost-per-use approach to the price it actually works out to be quite reasonable, to justify paying the higher price. I've switched to King Arthur now and while I could go back to generic flour if I had to, I would choose King Arthur first.
I love King Arthur flour, works so well for bread making. 5/5 for the flour itself, but beware of delivery. I ordered 8 bags and they came in a big box where two of the bags were ripped to pieces, there was loose flour everywhere. It was so obvious this was done as the box was being assembled and not during delivery. Disappointed in the carelessness, but I was able to get a refund for those two bags.
The item arrived opened and soaked with the cleaning products I also ordered. Who packs food items and cleaning supplies in the same bag? Extremely dissatisfied with Walmart
This item was never received at my house. That picture showing a front door is not my front door. I am still expecting this package to be delivered to my house immediately.
