I have a Kitchen Aid stand mixer (which I love)& have wanted the hand version for a long time...So glad to find this at a great price & couldn't pass it up. Plenty of power & so handy for stuff not requiring its "big" sister
I love this little mixer. It is more powerful than my last handheld mixer, which was a bit lighter weight but had insufficient power, and burned out after a few months-- It was also a KitchenAid. I think this one will last much longer. I've already used it several times and it provided all the power I need.
For the price, this hand mixer is a great addition to our kitchen appliances. We have many other types of mixers, but we use this one the most! Great value!
It's a nice hand mixer. I only used it once to make a cake and it did tne job. Easy to handle and for my purposes it's perfect I don't have much space on my apartment for a stand mixer so this is perfect. Great product for a reasonable price.
This is a wonderful mixer. The speeds are perfect. I recommend this to everyone! I was sooo happy to get rid of our previous mixer after using this. The speeds on our previous mixer were so high I dreaded using it because all the ingredients would end up all over the wall and me! It was terrible.. This hand mixer is amazing. The speeds are perfect and contrary to the previous post I use it all the time to whip eggs and it works well. Anything more powerful would be messy. I love baking now that I have a good mixer to use! I would definitely purchase this again! Happy baker = happy family. :)
I'm so happy that this mixer lived up to reviews. I wanted a lightweight mixer with a low speed that didn't splatter batter all over the place when I turned it on, and I got it! Plus it's made in USA. The only thing I would change is the length of the handle, as I sometimes nudge the speed control while using it If the space for my hand was about 1/2" longer it would be absolutely perfect. Someone with large hands might have more of a problem with it; however, all of the other features are so great, I can live with it.
I can't afford a stand mixer, so this let's me have a Kitchen Aid mixer at an affordable price. I was a little worried about the 3 speeds, but the highest speed creamed my butter better than my old mixer which had 9 speeds. I'm very happy!
The best thing about this mixer is it's better than mixing by hand. In that regard it does a fair job. However it is really only designed for cake batter and cookie dough. If you are trying to mix in chunky ingredients like bananas a lot of the bigger chunks will go right through the “whisk” type beaters. I would not recommend it for mashed potatoes unless you like lumpy mashed potatoes. Only one set of beaters comes with this mixer. I looked in the manual for other accessories and the only other beaters they offer are the same whisk type but with more of a twist. They don't make the old fashioned flat blade type beaters that I had many years ago. Not sure why I gave up my old mixer. Even if you only use it once a year it's way better than mixing by hand. They do sell a single whisk beater and dough hooks but I'm not sure this mixer could handle bread dough. The good things about this mixer are that it is surprisingly lightweight so holding it for the extended period of time it takes to blend the ingredients well does not tire your hand or wrist. It is also very quiet. I've never used a mixer that allowed you to talk to someone in the same room. But the last mixer I bought was over 20 years ago. It also has a long 5 foot cord that is more substantial than your typical lamp cord. It's more like and outdoor extension cord. The cord also has a swivel base and locks to one side but I can't really see that being a feature. The three speed button is easily accessible with your thumb so you can change speeds with one hand while holding the bowl with the other. However, the speed button does not seem very “positive” in its positioning. You could have the button somewhere between speeds and then you don't know exactly which speed you're on. Overall it's an OK mixer. I would not buy it for a friend. I think the price reflects the brand not the quality. I may return it and I would be willing to spend more for a better mixer of another brand.
The thing that clinched the sale for me were the reviews that raved over the power of this mixer. I am very disappointed in its power. It will be OK, but it will not handle the heavy jobs that I used my previously mixer for. BTW my previous mixer did not die, the one beater broke at the tines and I could not find replacement beaters. I doubt that I will get the length and quality of service from this beater that I had with my old one.
I brought the mixer on 11-12-2014 to use for potato pies. the mixer was so slow it wouldn't even whip the potatoes. So I'm returning it to Walmart. I gave it one star because it did turn on. either this was a bad mixer or very poor made product for a mixer. buyers be warn????????????
