I was actually impressed by this microwave. it is very inexpensive so I did not expect much. However,I am pleased to say it is well worth every cent and more. it looks average, has quite a bit of room and heats very well. It's very easy to use. I like the lock features for my grandkids. What really impressed me was how quiet it is. It operates so smoothly, you barely hear it running. I'd definitely recommend this microwave.
The mainstay microwave works great. It heats food fast without burning it. It has pre- programed settings for faster cooking, by pressing the buttons for the time needed. You can also set the time to cook by using the time cook button. It has buttons for cooking other items such as pizza, frozen foods. etc, it fits on a countertop without taking up too much space. it's a good oven to have on hand.
I had to replace our Panasonic 1200W and a new one was almost $200. Since I usually only used the old one on power level 7 or 8 to avoid overcooking, I decided to try this Mainstays 1000W for only $75. What a great choice this has been. It works very well and quietly, while having enough power to do what I need. As far as some reviews not liking the child lock feature, I disabled it by pressing three buttons, as instructed in the manual, so now it won't function again unless re-enabled. So far, so good, and I would recommend this unit.
I like this microwave very much. It's quiet, which was a big thing for me. Heats, well, and the controls are easy to use. i also liked that I could turn off the door lock feature, which is a useful feature if you have children who need to be protected.
This is a really nice microwave and the perfect size for me. It heats up fast and has plenty of room for my dishes that I use to heat food up with and as a plus, it takes up less room on my counter than that previous microwave I had did. I love the Mainstay products and choose them over the more popular and expensive brands because I have never been disappointed by them. Also, it was only a few more dollars than one that was only 700 watts. So glad I found it.
This microwave arrived the day we expected it with a driver who brought the microwave into our house for us. We unboxed it and put it on the counter, read the instructions and before you know it, we were using it. We purchased this microwave as an extra, since our kitchen microwave is built in and not available for weeks. If we had to have a counter model, this would work out great for us.
The inside is very dark, there’s not enough adequate light to see what is cooking. The lack of light also makes it difficult to see if there are any spills. I don’t like that. Also, the door doesn’t stay open. It constantly tries shutting while loading/unloading food. I don’t care for that, either.
I don’t use my microwave often, but after being without one for six months I realized there were times it certainly made my life easier. I didn’t need bells and whistles but am satisfied with the ones it has. My biggest issue is the lock feature. I haven’t investigated to see if I can turn it off, but while it’s not a huge deal it is annoying. Overall, though, I am satisfied.
Microwave works fine but does require more cooking time than my previous microwave. The one feature I absolutely hate is whenever it’s done cooking, you can’t open the microwave until you hit the stop button to unlock the door. Which doesn’t sound like that much of an issue until you realize how much of a pain it is as you’re rushing to do other things. For this very reason, I do not recommend.
it’s a very nice microwave, but it’s black inside and it’s easy to catch on fire. If you leave the food in too long it will burn it. I will never buy another microwave from Walmart. I recommend don’t buy it look very carefully when you buy a microwave don’t buy it off the phone go in person and look at it.
