MIcrowave rice? I was skeptical. Wow, was I impressed! Perfectly cooked, moist, tender. No change to the cook time or the water/rice ratio...use the same as what you normally do. And the very best part...no scrubbing the bottom of a saucepan/skillet. This rice pot is silicone %26 nothing sticks. Fast %26 easy washing. This rice pot is not a uni-tasker...you can use it for all your typical microwave foods: veggies, soup, spaghetti sauce, etc.
Could not be handier, ir easier to use and clean. Extremely pleased and wish i had gotten far sooner than I purchased.
The best!!!!!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟rice cooker ever have,, the taste of rice is way better to the stove. Easy to cook, easy to clean…
love it easy, fast to make rice with out having to do the cleaning after.
Since this is a 34 ounce container the max amount of rice to be used is 11 ounces for a 1:2 ratio to not over flow so bad. You can make it 1:2 cups but be prepared for the overflow. I have only used it to cook rice not steam or reheat. Good portions for single person. A tray under will help catch overflow use silicone tray.
The rice cooker boils over in the microwave. Solved this by putting it on paper towel on a dinner plate. Performs as promised and was inexpensive. Cookes rice fine, even had room to add chopped onions and celery. The directions were a mess. Said to cook as directed on the rice package. No Microwave directions on my rice package. Had to wing it.
While not my preferred rice cooker, it's perfect for small kitchen areas such as dorms hotel rooms or campers. We can eat well no matter where we may be.
It overflows. You have to adjust the power level of your microwave to about 60-70% to prevent overflowing. Other than that, your rice will come out nice and fluffy.
As a rice cooker? I would not recommend. I only cook rice for one person and even small amounts boil over in the microwave. I tried running the microwave at lower powers and it would still boil over at 4 power. I finally was able to cook at a power level of 3 for 18 minutes without boiling over. I was only cooking half a cup of jasmine rice. I loved the design and flexibility (flattens) of the bowl and will keep it to use for reheating and steaming, but will go back to cooking rice in my 4 cup glass measuring cup (need the height to keep from boiling over I guess, I still reduce its power to 4 but it also takes less time).
If you plan to use this, expect to have to deep clean your microwave each time. Even after washing the rice thoroughly, it will leave a giant puddle of starchy rice water filling your microwave from the steam shooting out. I only did about 3/4 cup of dry rice.
