I was a little skeptical at first because of the price. I've had cheaper feeders like this that leak! I am happy to say that for the price and the construction of the feeder being pretty heavy duty, I am very impressed! It does not leak at all! And so far we've had a few Hummers but not too many yet it's early in the season 😀
this ckeansceasily, fills easily. this one pictured has been hanging several days now, and sugar water is still clear. The hook is sturdy. It's all well made and so far weathering well in this Texas heat. Because it's well made keeping it clean is a delight instead of a chore
I love the item, it’s attracting SOoooooooooooo many hummingbirds in Las Vegas because it’s so hot, there’s no flowers for their nectar to drink so this is their source for survival. Downside is minor issue,,, it’s attracting some honey bees who also depend on me to keep them alive. So I planted sunflowers and zinnias flowers in backyard that thrive and survive in heat and this will help the bees in winter. All my neighbors either have no flowers or on vacations so I’m their daddy. Ha. Thank you Walmart.
These humingbird feeders are the Best to buy! Very Easy to Clean Fill and the Humming birds Love them! We always make our own sugar water they seem to like it beter then the store bought kind. We always hang our feeders on the edge of our patio roof so they are out of the sun so the sugar water doesn't spoil from the heat. Also we clean them every 4th day. We have loads of them . Look forward to seeing them every year!
I’ve been feeding the birds in my backyard Blackseed oil, sunflower seeds for a long time, but I always notice one little hummingbird who comes around, hoping for something and as the winner approaches and the flowers and things that can eat from start disappearing I decided it was time to get them a feeder as well. I’m on a very tight budget so I can’t afford to buy something twice if I buy something defective and I have to buy something inexpensive because I can’t afford the expensive version, but I went along and bought this one which was the most inexpensive option with more positive reviews than negative it arrived pretty quick and I filled it up and hung it and literally within 15 minutes the hummingbird drank from it for the first time your week is now passed, and that hummingbird now has brought its meat to the feeder and there is a second hummingbird family as well for a total of five hummingbirds that I see now regularly if this is a success, I don’t know what it is. It’s definitely made from cheap plastic and the receptacles for the hummingbirds could be probably better and it definitely is going to get some ant action but for now it’s doing an awesome job. I definitely recommend the feeder if you were on a budget.
The feeder I received had an incomplete seam at the top of the jar. (I ordered this through store pick-up so I wasn’t able to inspect it before purchase.) This caused the nectar to flow freely through the opening in the jar and then through the feeding ports. I attempted to make repairs to seal the plastic, but only made it worse. I ended up throwing it away.
Birds liked this very much. I however did not. I could not get the red base piece apart to clean it. I checked with customer service and they said that it does not come apart. Three weeks after receiving this feeder, the clear plastic part started leaking.
horrible, it was leaking from the top while i was filling it, so i figured...okay well it wont be in that position so no big deal right? No! as soon as i turned it right side the flowers became a fountain lost everything that wasnt in the red dish part. 0/5 no wonder it was "on sale"
within just over a week I lost all of my hummingbirds. found two dead on the ground. opened up his feeder and the plastic odor from the clear container was overwhelmingly strong. I washed and rinsed the feeder thoroughly before use but the odor leeched out into the water sugar solution. same sugar and water mix for almost 9 years, now no more hummingbirds. replaced them with new glass feeders but only saw one hummingbird check it out then it left, that was almost 2 weeks ago. wasted my money on 6 of these feeders, useless.
The bottom of the feeder doesn’t come apart for cleaning. The bottle neck is too small to clean the inside. I had to throw it away for fear of harming the hummingbirds.
