Good for keeping cholesterol levels low

Angel November 14, 2025

I eat high fiber bread and sometimes I want breakfast sausage or a food with fat/ cholesterol. Putting psyllium husk in a glass of water and drinking it before meals helps to absorb much of the fat in the food you eat. Make sure you drink an additional glass of water or fluid. Research how to take psyllium husk. Never had a problem with cholesterol until I had chemo. The chemo port in my neck caused a blockage. Then my cholesterol went up. It's back to normal now and I was able to get off of statins and manage my cholesterol levels through my diet. Psyllium husk is a major contributor to keeping my cholesterol levels down. Ask your doctor about it.

it's worth it

Tonya April 30, 2026

It was a rough 2 weeks. The first week I took an hour before my dinner because I wanted to start getting used to hopefully having a morning constitutional. 8 oz of water with one tablespoon didn't mix it up all the way and just chugged it and then chugged another 8 oz of water. I drank at least 64 oz or more water throughout the day. I don't think my body was used to all that fiber. The second week I began taking one tablespoon an hour before my lunch and one tablespoon an hour before my dinner, again both with 8 oz of water barely mixed up and an additional 8 oz of water once it was down the hatch. I've stayed on that regiment ever since and I don't think I've ever been as regular and consistent as I am now, it is a beautiful thing. I actually feel better. I lost 6 lb in the first month without even trying. I think it has a lot to do with cleaning the pipes out. I've also noticed with taking this an hour before lunch and a hour before dinner I don't eat as much, I am completely satisfied. I want to emphasize that it was a difficult go for the first two weeks. Bloating cramping, constipation, gas, then it would turn around and I poop all day. I was warned, I was prepared, and even through all the discomfort it was worth it. It's been one month and I have three trips to the bathroom in a day, cleaning out my pipes from the day before. I really love that I don't start my day constipated anymore. I don't have any weird looking poops they're very healthy and it has prompted me to eat healthier and drink a whole lot more water than I'm used to. I don't know if you take this continuously or not, I don't know if you're supposed to keep it a part of your daily regiment for the rest of your life. For me I will be looking into it. I do know this, I really do enjoy the way my body feels right now.

my dog's veterinarian prescribed this for my dog who has inflammation of her intestinal lining. It is hard to find a product that does not contain a sweetener or is flavored. I put it on her food. But please use this only if your vet prescribed it.

Now has the best deal..

Jiva34 February 1, 2026

I like to make chips and crackers in the dehydrator. Adding a tablespoon of the powder helps to hold the mixture together and I get the added benefit of healthy digestion. My batters are whatever is in the garden, carrots or kale, even sweet potato leaves or daikon leaves make great dehydrator chips mixed with coconut flour, ground flax seeds, a little olive oil, salt and psyllium husk powder. 135F for 20 hours. chips galore... Now has the best deal. Competitive price and quality.

Psyllium husk is the right solution

maria July 12, 2025

This psyllium husk is a fine powder so it's easier to absorb in the body and easier to mix in liquid. There's plenty in the pouch to last between 30 %26 60 days depending on how often you scoop.

Pure. Effective. Ideal, if you prefer powder. It's too fine for me. I find the whole husk, which is less finely ground, easier to swallow. Fine powder can gel up too fast and choke people over fifty.

Great way to add fiber, and thicken dishes. No wierd taste. I find myself using in alot of dishes.

Reduces cholesterol

packersfan January 1, 2026

I like that it is flavorless and no sweeteners. I mix it with fruit juice. It has reduced my cholesterol significantly.

Good if you don't like the orange flavor.

Daniel November 25, 2025

Good value if you don't like the orange flavored type. The Metamucil 2 pack from Costco is a better value if you are OK with the orange flavor.

Maybe!!!!

Ro December 9, 2025

Wish the site would have had a "maybe" under recommendations!!!! Every website is so poorly designed!!! Sometimes the fiber helps but plenty of times it does nothing!! Fiber has no taste so that's a good thing! I would just suggest the fiber to someone and not promise the moon!!!
