This measures easily and results in a lightly sweetened product. Use for cold drinks like iced tea, or for hot drinks as well as baking. A good substitute in baked goods when you desire less sugar in your diet. I didn't detect an aftertaste; it didn't add any flavor to drinks or recipes. This is highly recommended!
Im 66 years old and have been low carb for 3 years. If I eat bread I make it count. I use Daves killer bread and make cinnamon toast. I use this Swerve mixed with cinnamon in a shaker bottle to make it. great taste, plus it will not raise your blood sugar. its yummy and Daves bread is loaded with whole grains and seeds. healthy treat to satisfy my sweet tooth.
I first heard of swerve sweetener from a chef online whose recipe I tried. Since then, I started using it instead of sugar. It's good to feel I can cook and bake all the good food I and my family love eating without worrying to be diabetic. It is such a savior and good health maintenance.
It costs a lot more than sugar! But, when cooking and baking for those with preferences, such as "no sugar" , it is a great sugar substitute. Measures like sugar, and makes it easy to offer sugar free desserts. Make sure you use this granulated sugar and not the confectioner's sugar substitute (that one leaves a sandy texture to desserts ) I have tried all kinds of sugar substitutes and brands- Swerve is the better one to use. A one their granulated sugar and their brown sugar! Swerve gets you the closest to the real deal tasting desserts without the sugar.
I really like the swerve brand line of products the only one I don't use as often is the confectioner sugar but I do use it, that one has a slight cooling effect but not terrible but I really like the granular and the brown sugar swerve great quality!
This is so good in my coffee. I can't taste any aftertaste at all. Swerve is not super sweet like some other brands. I will keep using Swerve as I am type 2 diabetic and this is helping me behave.
I have been using splenda for years and now have switched. I can use like sugar it is sweet no after taste and bakimg.is better than other sugar substitutes and comes in brown sugar which is hreat for cooking and pies.
I really bought this for baking and it works alright for that but when I saw it I had to try it on cinnamon toast, that was a mistake. I don't know what this is made out of but it irritated my tongue. It almost felt like it was cutting my tongue or poking it, after eating 2 pieces of cinnamon toast my mouth felt numb and irritated. Even though I read that some people like it on cinnamon toast I did not like it at all. It worked in baking and it tastes fine in coffee and tea, it sweetened it nicely and I didn't have an issue with it. I'm going to keep trying different types of sweetener that will work on cinnamon toast. It is kind of expensive but in line with other artificial sweeteners so I shouldn't complain.
When I used swerve for the first time it was great. Now, thrte is an after taste which is minty. All of the Swerve surgas has that same aftertaste. Im not in love with it by any means but use it for diabetic purposes. I am to the point where Im going to use real sugar and just limit the amount. Substitutes dont really cut it.The exception is Splenda but that isn't the best for you either.
Over priced for a very weak taste. I have to use 2 and three times the normal amount of sugar to just be able to taste it. ie 1 tsp of sugar in coffee is 3 tsps of Swerve to barely taste it.
