Great for Paleo Desserts!

Anna717 November 30, 2017

Gluten Free. Contains fiber and protein. Perfect for Paleo Diet followers. Per 2 TBSP: 60 CALS, 2G FAT, 45MG SODIUM, 0G SUGARS, 5G FIBER, 3G PROTEIN., 9G CARBs. Product of the Philippines or Sri Lanka. Bottled/pkgd in USA. Perfect for Paleo desserts and recipes. You do need to use 2-3 eggs and extra liquid in this flour. Can substitute 20% of wheat flour with Coconut Flour. For Thanksgiving I made some delicious Paleo pumpkin pie tarts and mixed this flour with almond flour to make the crust/tart shells. These were a hit!! You do need to store in air tight container in refrigerator or freezer after opening.

Wrchurch November 20, 2017

Cooking healthy is one of my main objectives for my family. To help with this, I discovered that cooking with coconut oil and coconut flour helps me to cook healthy. The Better Body Food Organic coconut flour is one substitution for wheat flour that has helped me to meet my healthy goal. It is sold in a container that serves as a safe way to store it. If your family wishes to find gluten –free white flour with a slight coconut taste, well this is the one to use. This Better Body organic coconut flour has 23 dietary fiber per serving. The flour is organic because no chemicals are needed to process the coconut meat or to dry it out. My family raves about my being able to use flour that is very healthy for them. BetterBody Foods Organic Coconut Flour

BetterBody Foods Organic Coconut Flour — A Naturally Gluten-Free White Flour Alternative With A Slight Coconut Taste and Aroma, 23% Dietary Fiber per Serving — 2.25 lbs This BetterBody Foods Organic Coconut Flour is a great product for folks who have to eat Gluten Free Flour. The 2.25 lb container is a perfect size for storage in your refrigerator or freezer. My wife made peanut butter cookies with this flour and they were very good. They were light and very easy to prepare with the coconut flour. The taste was enhanced by the touch of coconut aroma from the flour. Overall, I would say the healthy use of this flour is much better than wheat flour any day! It has become harder in this present day to eat healthy and this product really goes a long way to help in this regard. You have a winner!

Healthy low carb alternative ti wheat flour

LYNN November 28, 2017

BetterBody Foods Organic Coconut flour is made from the meat of dried coconuts and is a healthy low carb alternative to wheat flour. Coconuts are usually harvested for their milk and oil. After these are taken, the dried coconut is then carefully ground into a fine, light colored powder, giving it a flour-like texture. Coconut flour can be used in both sweet and savory recipes. It is unsweetened and has a delightful light scent and taste of coconut which easily blends well with other ingredients in recipes and does not overpower other tastes. While it has a light, airy appearance and texture when dry, it becomes pretty dense when cooking and baking with it. Probably because liquid reconstitutes the dried coconut. So keep that in mind. You will want to make sure to de-clump the flour first before cooking with it, since it's prone to forming clumps. Do this by mixing it with a whisk or fork to take out any air bubbles or lumpy bits. A little coconut flour goes a long way. In recipes you should substitute 1/4 to 1/3 cup of coconut flour for 1 cup of wheat flour. I Googled recipes that use coconut flour and also converted some other recipes that I usually use wheat flour in. Something to keep in mind is that baking is a science. So you can't really make substitutions and always get the desired results. It takes some trial and error. It seems like probably because it is dried and ground coconut that it absorbs liquids more that wheat flour. So it takes some getting used to. It is not actually a flour in the way that we normally think of flour because it does not contain and grains. My most recent uses for BetterBody Organic Coconut flour... pancakes, breading for coconut shrimp that was absolutely delicious and coating for yummy chocolate truffles.

Great product!

Peggy June 19, 2016

There are no added ingredients. It is ground up to be very powdery. If I can taste a little bit before I even blended with anything and it still tastes like Delicious coconut. It is definitely a winner.

Trying BetterBody Foods Organic Coconut Flour

SSSandANS November 29, 2017

Although the product description for BetterBody Foods Organic Coconut Flour touts "A Naturally Gluten-Free White Flour Alternative With A Slight Coconut Taste and Aroma," I would not necessarily agree with the "slight coconut taste" portion of that description. We thought there was a strong coconut flavor. I wanted to try Coconut Flour to experiment with making gluten-free recipes. For that purpose, this flour was a suitable option and worked out well. If you have never used Coconut Flour before, you will need to do a little research. You will need much less coconut flour in a recipe than you would wheat flour. You will also need to add extra eggs and moisture when using coconut flour. However, rather than manipulating your own recipes, I would suggest searching the Internet (or Pinterest) for Coconut Flour Recipes. You will find many! I opted to make Coconut Flour Pancakes and Coconut flour chocolate chip cookies. While both of these recipes were good, neither tasted anything like recipes my family was accustomed to. The pancakes were heavy and you could taste the egg. The cookies were more like a modified Almond Joy than a typical chocolate chip cookie. However, both had a good flavor. Since each recipe only takes a small amount of coconut flour, this canister will allow me to try many more recipes, too. Coconut Flour is a great option for those who need to avoid gluten.

Good gluten-free alternative

MamaColes327 January 1, 2018

I have mixed feelings about this product. I like it but have only found limited uses for it so far. I'm transitioning our family to a healthier lifestyle. In doing so, I'm making more of our food from scratch and being more aware of the raw ingredients we're putting in our food. I have wanted to try coconut flour for some time to see if I could begin to include it in our daily meals. I love the fact that it's made of coconut. It's a healthy alternative to wheat flour. It's organic. It has a slight coconut flavor which was great for me because I'm not a huge fan of coconut. It's more nutritional, high fiber, low carb, etc. All of these are great reasons to try this product. I tried using it as the coating on chicken fingers. They turned out extra crunchy and really good. I also tried it with a banana nut muffin recipe specifically for coconut flour, and I didn't like it. The flavor was good but the texture was really gritty. I'll have to play around with the ingredients, prep, or cooking method to see if I can get a fluffier, smoother muffin. This is a great gluten-free flour alternative that can be used in many versatile ways. I'm excited to play around with it to find more delicious ways to use it.

I have used it once by it's self texture was tricky, loved the flavor it gave the cobbler, but I do think I will use part regular flour with it the next time.

Hard To Swallow

Roshonne November 26, 2017

I have been on a low carb life style for about eleven months now. I have lost sixty pounds eating low carb and exercising. So, I am always looking for different ways to bring a low carb meal to my family's dinner table. I decided to try using the Betterbody Foods Organic Flour. I used the coconut flour mixed with a couple of tablespoons of white flour, bananas, eggs, and almond milk to make some low carb pancakes. Well, I must say this flour is not what I was expecting. The texture was very grainy and mealy. It felt like you just got through chewing a mouth of coconut. It was nothing like flour. It was heavy and made our pancakes like “cement” textured pancakes. I am not quite sure what I will be able to use this coconut flour for, maybe coconut cookies? I am not sure, but that might be worth a try, because it does not lend itself well for light and fluffy pancakes. I pride myself on inventing great low carb meals. So, I am ready to meet the challenge and turn this coconut flour into something palatable and delicious for my low carb eating family someday.
