NOW Supplements, Taurine 1,000 mg, Double Strength, Nervous System Health*, 250 Veg Capsules

My 2 go to supplement brands are NOW and Spring Valley

I bought these because of back pumps from going to the gym. What I didn't know is how many brands got bad reviews and the NOW brand always gets good reviews. This brand is more expensive but at least you get what you pay for.

Taurine is said to be helpful in eye health, specifically the macula, which helps us see faces and small things. This is why I use it. It is helping.

Excellent Taurine and Service!

NOW Foods Double Strength Taurine has twice the taurine (1000 mg per capsule) as in their regular strength product. Taurine is well-known for its role in the modulation of neurotransmitter activity and its relaxing effect on the mood.

Taurine is widespread throughout the body with usage in the liver, heart, eyes, colon, skeletal muscles, and central nervous system. I appreciate its nutritional value throughout my body, which is why I take 3 or 4 of these 1,000 mg. (called double-strength, because most similar type capsules provide 500 mg. of active ingredient) Taurine capsules at bedtime. I choose to take my Taurine at bedtime for two reasons: First, I find Taurine to be restful and an assist at promoting a good, sound night's sleep. . . . And Second, because as one sleeps, the body utilizes nutrients to replenish, rebuild, and regenerate. So in this manner, Taurine is doing double duty for me.

One can Google Taurine and/or read about it in many different places. . . . AND Taurine is utilized in many different places throughout the body, from the retina of the eye, the central nervous system, skeletal muscles, to the production of bile for digestion, and more. On top of that, I find Taurine excellent at promoting a truly restful and lasting night's sleep, which is why I take 3 or 4 of these 1,000 mg. Taurine capsules with my bedtime supplements - - - mostly minerals. That way, I feel that Taurine is doing double duty for me: promoting quality sleep while being utilized throughout my body for rebuilding. After all, that is why we sleep. . . . To stop wearing our body down with daily activities, and allow it to regenerate with whatever nutrients / building blocks are available within our system throughout the night as we sleep. Personally, I really like this product.

I almost found out the hard way. The symptoms I experienced are not anomalies but well documented in the medical scientific literature. Unfortunately, I did read about those and instead bought into all the hype. Get your taurine from food sources and not some concentrate like these pills. Your heart will love you for it.

This is not what I ordered. I ordered Vitamin C Crystals and don't want Taurine...explain how this happened!
