The corn works just great for me. it's a good price ,the quality is fine and the squirrels who live in a tree in my yard wait for it everyday. this winter they have eaten a lot of it! it's been so cold this winter that I make sure to have a supply on hand all of the time. actually they're all quite fat! I want them to be happy and healthy and warm so I keep them well supplied with this corn.
This whole ear corn works great for feeding squirrels and critters. It’s fresh, well sized, and really attracts the squirrels quickly. They come back regularly and clearly enjoy it. The bag lasts a good while and is a great value. A dependable feed that does exactly what it’s supposed to do.
The squirrels and chipmunks weren't eating the dried corn in the bag. I take some of this corn off the cob and add it to the pan with sunflower seeds and shelled peanuts. It's all gone by late afternoon or evening if not b4. I do believe the chipmunk may be taking it back to his nest to store it. I recently read they do not hibernate, but they do forage and store year-round.
Pennington Classic Whole Ear Corn is a fun and reliable option for feeding squirrels and other backyard critters. The ears are a good size and come well-dried, which helps prevent mold and makes them last longer outdoors. It’s been great for attracting wildlife—squirrels especially love it, and it keeps them busy for a while. I’ve also noticed birds and other small animals stopping by, which makes it enjoyable to watch if you like a little backyard activity. The 6.5 lb bag gives a decent amount for the price, and the quality has been consistent with minimal broken or unusable pieces. It’s easy to place on feeders or just set out in a designated area. Overall, it’s a simple, effective feed that does exactly what it’s supposed to—keeps critters happy and gives you something entertaining to watch outside. Great value and I’d definitely buy it again.
It kept those dreaded squirrels away from my bird feeder during the snowstorm particularly. And I loved watching the same dreaded squirrels pick a kernel at a time and bury the kernel until it was satisfied and then took the ear away to who knows where.
The "whole ear" just isn't present-- it seems like most are more cob than corn with lots of kernels missing. You can kind of tell this if you look at the picture of the item which is why I'm not giving a lower score. That said, the critters do eat what corn is there.
I have ordered this many times for the local squirrels to keep them away from my bird feeders. Each time the size of the cobs are very mixed. This past time the cobs were all rather short and there was al ot of loose kernels at the bottom o f the bag. Squirrels seem to like them.
Even though Walmart has the lowest price in my area, too many of the corn kernels come off in the package instead of staying on the cobbs. Only buy if my regular store is out of stock.
The corn was infested with little moths, they came out of the corn kernels and now my home is infested with little moths. I’ve had to buy cedar hanging things for all my closets. I’ve purchased moth balls, flying insect traps and sprays. I think I’ve finally gotten them all but I’m very disappointed in quality control.
I initially ordered Pennington squirrel and critters bag of seed not corn on the cob but due to my error in paying with wrong payment method had to reorder with another payment method, this item got put in. I am not sure how it occurred. I have opened the bag of corn on cob and it's not being eaten at all. I am not sure what to do other than make a request to get the initial bag of seed. Please advise!
