This is a good little pie iron. Pretty high price unless you get it on sale though. It's pretty small and doesn't hold very much but we made some monkey bread in it and it turned out good.
This mountain pie maker is made of cast iron, so it will heat evenly and keep the heat longer. It comes apart for good cleaning and can actually be used that way as a small frying pan. It's an ingenious design.
Sturdy and heavy duty. Good price compared to others
An awesome item to have! took the grandkids camping and they had so much fun making pies, so did i.
I remember having one of these pie irons years ago and it was wonderful to use at campfires. I somehow lost the one I had and got the Rome Industries Round Pie Iron Cast Iron and has brought back good memories. Makes great fruit pies on a campfire using just bread slices and pie filling. I love my Rome Industries Round Pie Iron Cast Iron. A good buy.
We had one these 65years ago loved them for grilled cheese, peanut butter and jelly . My next order will be one.
Cast iron design works well in fire has long handles so you don't get burned cooking with it
This is NOT the dinky aluminum pie iron that you can get seasonally at many department stores. This pie iron is heavy-duty cast iron and will last forever. It's pre-seasoned and a breeze to use!
I ordered 2 of these cast iron pie makers. DO NOT ORDER THEM, they arrived and I was extremely disappointed. Cheaply made (yes they are heavy cast iron, but the quality is very poor). One maker had a broken handle, just snapped off (arrived broken, box UNDAMAGED). 2nd maker had MAJOR cast iron defects - Three total in just a small area! I cannot even make one full pie maker because the broken handle and the blemish on the other set are both on the SAME SIDE. So I have two that need to be returned. Stay away from this poorly made product. Not worth it!
