If you can solve a Rubiks Cube then you can put this desk together. Just expect to curse a lot! Since there is no language instructions bring a magnifying glass to you can see where the tiny holes are. Luckily I only put one piece in backwards. Other than that it's quite a decent desk for the cost. Some of the wood got a bit scuffed putting it together. Hopefully it holds up well. It IS very heavy and solid - its NOT flimsy. Looks exactly like the photos.

Congratulations to the engineers for design and packaging ... yes, I said packaging. After opening the box, I was amazed by the number of pieces they managed to get inside. Previous reviews regarding the amount of time necessary to assemble those pieces were right on target ... it took me about 4 hours. But, the effort was well worth it. If you follow the instructions carefully, making sure you put the right screw into the right hole, you'll have no problems at all. If you try to jump ahead and not follow the instructions, you may have a problem.

We've had "put it together" furniture before... and it always looks nice at first, but they are inexpensive... you get what you pay for. This desk looked good in the picture and at first I thought it was a little high priced. It took two of us to carry the box into the house... it was that heavy. While putting it together I noticed every "leg" was double wall. And it uses lots of screws to hold it together. Now that it's complete, it looks better than in the picture... and sturdy! And the price was reasonable. Good product! So we bought the matching file cabinets too...

First of all, my husband and I were impressed with the packaging which ensured that the desk was not damaged during shipment. After a thorough inventory, all parts were accounted for and we began the assembly process. The instructions were clearly written with great pictures to help. Most of the parts were labeled to match the instructions. For those parts not labeled it was easy to figure them out by process of elimination or the pictures. It took about 4 hours to assemble. The finished product looks just like the catalog picture and is beautiful in our office. It looks like a more expensive piece of furniture. However, if you need a desk that sits in the middle of a room, the back is put on with finishing nails and would show.

Major aggravation with the numbers/codes for the bag that holds the screws, and accessories needed to assemble. Wish they would also have a photo of the bag in the manual for reference once the bag gets destroyed half way through the assembly process. Aggravation that could be eliminated

I like the size of the desk as we have a smaller office in our new home than in our former home. The color is different than I would have thought I'd like, but I do like it. We paid to have it assembled, and I am glad we did so. It took an assembler, who does this for a living, 2 hours to put together, and would have taken us a lot longer. Everything works, but there are a couple of minor issues. First, there was a trim piece that was cracked, so my husband glued it while the installer skipped that step, then, after my husband had it repaired and dried, it was able to be attached out of order. The other minor issue is the drawers do need to be pushed pretty firmly to close, which is a tad annoying. Other than that, I really like this desk; it's the perfect size for our needs, it holds all our files and all our office stuff, and has enough room to work, plus holds a few office items on top. The price was fair, and the desk is worth buying, IMHO.

We purchased 6 pieces from this collection to furnish our home office. Took a WHILE to assemble, but after the 4th piece it was old hat! The look of the furniture is absolutely beautiful! Looks like high-end, all-wood furniture. Had to shop around at different retailers to get the best deal on all the furniture, but well worth the effort put in. I didn't give it 5 stars, simply because once this particular desk was put together, it wasn't exactly straight. It had a slight angle on the drawer side. You have to look hard to see it, but it's visible. Keep your dust cloth handy too. Anytime it's touched, the oil from your hands definitely show on it. Some instructions, could have been clearer, in that suggestions could have been made prior to some parts of the assembly, so that you didn't figure out things too late. Our office looks amazing with all these pieces in it. So far, we are very happy with our purchase!

This is a nice piece of furniture. Quite heavy....150 lbs. The draws make up about half the weight so removed, the desk can be more easily moved. The down side is it takes about 5 hrs to assemble...over 100 pieces not counting the screws which are also over 100 pieces. The worst part was separating out all the screws which are all thrown together in a plastic pouch. You need to be careful to use the correct screw as some are very similar in size and easy to mistake. Be careful not to loose one as there aren't any extra. I have also bought file cabinets from the set. They came with each different type of screw in a separate bubble pack. I don't know why they did not do the same for the desk. Overall the final assembled product is very nice.

Nice, functional, & well made desk. This desk has many nice features. Large enough to put PC & Printer on top of desk. Hidden place for your keyboard. Enough room to even store your mouse. Has 3 drawers that are different sizes. Small, Medium, & Large. The bottom drawer is made for hanging files. The desk is a dark cherry color with traditional styling. Also nice hardware. It does take some time to assemble. We went through all the pieces which are marked & counted & laid out all the screws. Just follow the directions. We love this desk! If you go to the store to pick up make sure you have a big enough vehicle. It weighs just over 150 pounds. We slid onto a flat dolly that we have & rolled it into the house.

I don't usually buy at Walmart but the price difference on line for the same exact product was about 100.00 less. Because of the dark color, the imperfections (small edge scratches) are more noticeable but easily fixed with a furniture marker and are expected for this type of material. Delivery to the store was a breeze.
